ENGLISH: Ten touristic places in Belgium Slide 3: First we would like to tell you more about Bruges. Bruges is known for its beautiful sights and historical background. It is also known as the Venice of the North. Venice is a city in Italy in the many waterway. Bruges has also a network of canals. Every major city lances the problem of having too many tourists. Well Bruges is no exception. Even though it isn’t that big. You can compare Bruges’ surface to San Lorenzo’s. Interesting for those who know San Lorenzo. In Bruges you can’t pass a street without entering a chocolate shop. Belgian is the place to be, to find world’s best chocolate shops. We are proud of our chocolate, it’s at least something we can be proud of.
Slide 4: Antwerp is an industrial city because they have the largest port of Belgium. One of Antwerp’s best known attractions is The Zoo. Every day a lot of people, I think 200 000, visit this beautiful attraction. I think you know what a Zoo is? I explain to you. It is a park with a lot of different animals such as monkey’s, elephants, tigers, lions and of course also zebras. In my childhood I visited the zoo a lot and I spoke to the animals, gave them food,… but never mind let us continue with the presentation. You have also museums in Antwerp and one of this is the MAS museum. The MAS brings together various collections to tell a largely untold story about the world in the city of Antwerp and about the city of Antwerp in the world. It’s built not so long ago next to the Schelde. For those who love music and concerts there is the famous Sports Palace. They play sometimes a sportgame but usually it is used for concerts. You can find a lot of churches in Antwerp and there is also a Jewish neighbourhood. When you arrive in this city you can admire its beautiful Railway Station or like the Antwerp people say ‘the Railway Cathedral’.
Slide 5: Ghent is a city where you can find a lot of students. It is also the “student city” of Belgium. You can find the students on the Graslei. The place to be for them. Also Ghent has a museum, it is called “The Stam Museum”. It’s a museum where you can find and learn all about the history of Ghent. You have also a lot of old buildings such as in Bruges. For example Cathedrals and churches. The castle Gravestone or Gravesteen” is one of Ghents most well-known touristic attractions. It is situated on the water.
