50 Years of the University of York HELENA HORTON INVESTIGATES WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE FOR STUDENTS JOINING THE UNIVERSITY OF YORK WHEN IT FIRST OPENED ITS DOORS 50 YEARS AGO

All Images Š University of York Our campus might not seem to be exactly state-of-the-art and extravagant now, but back in the day it was considered dynamic. The lake was criticized for being too fancy, albeit necessary to have the buildings on such marshy lands, while the covered walkways were an innovation in the 1 960s.
