BANDON LIBRARY Friends and Foundation will host a Travel Night at 7 p.m., Monday, July 23, at the Bandon Public Library Sprague Room. Chas Waldrop and his daughter Madison will continue their talk about their trip around the world and introduce those attending to the Seychelles, a cluster of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, about 1,000 miles east of Kenya, Africa. Chas and Madison will show slides and video of their adventures aboard the sailing yacht Sea Star and exploring the marine preserves, bird sanctuaries, white sand beaches and tropical rain forests of the Seychelles. There is no cost to attend this event and everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served. Candace Kreitlow of Bandon plays Celtic harp while Katie Waldren from Wisconsin plays mountain (lap) and hammered dulcimer, among other instruments. The two blend their clear voices in subtle harmonies. Heartwood Duo worked and toured together for 10 years in the Midwest where they also created and sold four CDs and developed a following. Kreitlow plays frequently in Coos County. Her colleague Waldren is able to come north to play in this venue. The concert begins at 7 p.m. at Zion Church, off U.S. Highway 101 at 20th Avenue behind the laundromat in Port Orford.
