Many people suffer from panic and anxiety attacks, which are caused by severe anxiety and nervousness. The next step in how to stop panic attacks is to learn different ways to deal with the attacks, or stop them, before they start. There are many different ways to accomplish this. One way is to practice meditative breathing, to help the person feel more relaxed and to keep the oxygen flowing. This will help them think more clearly and stop the feelings of panic and claustrophobia that can tighten the chest and cause a panic attack. Another way is to try to find ways to get the person to focus on something other than the oncoming panic or anxiety attack. Another good thing to try is to have the person repeat aloud strings of words or numbers so they lose focus on their panic or anxiety attack or the issues causing it, and focus on the present world.
