A Moonee Valley Weekly Special Promotion

Come one, come all... To Queens Park to enjoy all the fun and excitement of our largest annual community celebration.

Proudly supported by

A Moonee Valley Weekly Special Promotion

WELCOME Now in its 36th year, the Moonee Valley Festival is our largest annual, free community celebration. Join us as Queens Park once again comes to life for a fun summer day full of excitement with rides, live music and activities for the whole family. With something for young and old, Moonee Valley Festival has become one of the major attractions on our local events calendar. This year is set to be more exciting than ever with market stalls, roving performers, entertainment stages, business expo sites, food stalls, amusement rides and community activities and displays.

10am. So come down early and relax with great entertainment by the Wendy Stapleton Trio and enjoy some delicious refreshments. None of this would be possible without the support of those involved in organising the festival. I would especially like to mention Moonee Valley City Council staff, our volunteers, generous sponsors and you, our local community. I look forward to seeing the community come together to have fun and celebrate on Sunday, 24 February.

Cr Narelle Sharpe Moonee Valley Mayor

It’s all about health and fitness as my fellow Councillors and I again host our traditional champagne breakfast, starting at

CITYLINK MAIN STAGE The Citylink Main Stage plays host to some of Melbourne’s finest performers and entertainment by local performers. Schools, community groups, Flemington Community Centre patrons and other community members have volunteered to form the Moonee Valley Community Choir, singing “I Am Australian” and “Imagine”. The headline act on stage is Benny Walker, whose sophomore album “Sinners and Saint’s is an effortless blend of blues, roots and acoustic folk. Walker’s intimate, eloquent songwriting

couples with a rich, soulful voice that speaks of the trouble, strife and wonder of everyday life. Along with earlier awards, his voice recently earned him the Victorian Indigenous Performing Arts Award for best new talent 2012. Hailing from regional Victoria, Walker has performed alongside some of Australia’s finest including Archie Roach and Vika and Linda Bull. He’s also performed at many top Australian festivals and made his international debut with a tour or Canada.

RENDINA REAL ESTATE CHALK ART MURAL COMPETITION Residents have been asked to enter a sketch or design that represents the Moonee Valley community into the Rendina Real Estate Community Chalk Art Mural competition. The winning
