Countrywide strikes gold at the ESTAS as the market shows good signs of improvement Countrywide plc, the UK’s largest property services group, has scooped the coveted Gold Award in the national category for Best Large Chain at the ESTAS, the prestigious Estate & Letting Agent Awards 2013. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Countrywide has won the award for delivering outstanding customer service.

The award was presented by TV property expert Phil Spencer, at a luncheon ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London. The event was attended by 600 of the UK’s top estate and letting agents and suppliers to the industry. The ESTAS awards, now celebrating their 10th year, are the only industry awards based purely on the votes of buyers, sellers and landlords. The annual awards recognise the best offices in the UK for delivering outstanding customer service and customers are asked to vote for estate agents based on their experience in 2012. Hundreds of agents from across the UK took part and over 23,000 questionnaires were completed by customers during the competition, making it the biggest consumer survey of its kind in the property industry. front page Iain McKenzie, Managing Director for Countrywide Solent, said: “We take great pride in being voted Best Large National Chain for the fifth year running. Our customers are at the heart of our business and this award is testament to the confidence that our customers have in the excellent service provided by Countrywide across the UK.” Iain also commented “The market has certainly gained momentum since the beginning of 2013, with strong activity and the number of house hunters surged at the beginning of the year to their highest level in more than five years, boosting hopes that 2013 will be a better year for the residential property market. This reflects a wider upturn in the market at the start of what we hope will be a better year for UK property.” He added: “The strong number of enquiries during the first quarter suggests the financial barriers that have plagued the market for so many years may be beginning to ease as banks increasingly look at new ways to assist buyers.” Iain McKenzie Managing Director of Countrywide Solent
