1940’s Baltimore and it’s opening night. Ten minutes to the curtain going up and backstage all hell has let loose! The story unfolds on and off stage as romantic entanglements, mistaken identities and hairy encounters with a pair of hilarious, foolhardy gangsters are all comically intertwined in Cole Porter’s stunning musical comedy. Full of mischief, wit and dazzling dance including hit songs Another Op’nin, Another Show, Brush Up Your Shakespeare, Too Darn Hot and So In Love, it will leave any Tom, Dick or Harry grinning from ear to ear!

The opportunity to view ‘Extraordinary Art in Ordinary Houses’, Art House is back with 60 artists across 10 venues. If you've never been before, expect to be amazed by the great variety of work on show including textiles, jewellery, ceramics, glass, sculpture, fine art, print making and photography. Plus take the opportunity to chat to the artists about their work and buy something unique for your home. Take a pleasant two-mile stroll around the venues or catch the Art House hopper bus (donations appreciated). On Sat & Sun take a break for tea, cake and live music at Tart House (71 Holmfield Road) a popup cafe which enables Art House to support two local cancer charities and MIND. Established since 2008 this community event has people returning year after year. Venues are open from 18.0020.30 on Fri and 11.00-18.00 on Sat & Sun.

Based on the hit film screenplay by Charles Dance starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, and on the original short story by William J. Locke, Ladies in Lavender tells the tale of two sisters Ursula and Janet who live in a close-knit fishing village in picturesque Cornwall, in 1936. When a handsome and talented young Polish violinist bound for America is washed ashore, the Widdington sisters take him under their wing and nurse him back to health. However, the presence of the mysterious young man disrupts their peaceful lives and the community in which they live.
