Limited Engagement: Titanic Artifact Exhibition

There is no more poignant way to experience Titanic 100 years later than through the authentic artifacts that have been recovered from the wreck site and can only be seen in Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, held at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Be a part of history and participate in remembering Titanic and all who sailed with her as you witness more than 300 legendary artifacts conserved from the ship’s debris field, offering you a poignant look at this iconic ship and its passengers. Take a chronological journey through the life of Titanic, from the building of the legend to life on board ship, in this 15,000 square foot exhibition. The Exhibition has been designed with a focus on the compelling human stories as best told through authentic artifacts and extensive room re-creations. From china etched with the logo of the elite White Star Line, to perfume from a maker traveling to New York to sell his samples, the many authentic objects offer haunting and emotional connections to lives abruptly ended or forever altered. Prior to the exhibition, you’ll experience a taste of the Amalfi Coast, Italy right in Old City Philadelphia when you dine on a three course meal at Positano Coast by award-winning chef Aldo Lamberti. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonia

Private Access to the Little Known Community

New After World War II, a group of idealistic men and women enlisted Frank Lloyd Wright to design and help them create a cooperative community based on Wright’s architectural ideals. The utopian community of Usonia was born. You’ll join noted tour guide Justin Ferate, and enjoy private access to visit this little-known community located near Pleasantville. On our neighborhood stroll, you’ll visit private Wright-designed and Wright-inspired homes. You’ll meet a long-time Usonia resident for a tour of her magnificent home. You’ll also meet with the head of the Usonia Historical Society, who, with his wife, commissioned their house by Frank Lloyd Wright. Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Usonian” houses were an extension of his late 1930s Prairie Style houses, but were designed for the middle class. These Frank Lloyd Wright’s concepts would lead to the creation of the innovative American ranch-style house - so popular today, but avant-garde then. You’ll relax and enjoy a luncheon at Ristorante Mediterraneo for a three-course menu featuring innovative cuisine drawing from different regions of Italy. Please note this tour involves walking. Please inquire for details.
