EAN OF FACU
THE FACULTY OF ARTS
Arts is the Faculty which explores human creativity. We do this through the study of creative work in literature, film, television, stage, etc. and also through the production of our own creative work by students and staff.
Our staff link their teaching with their research to make our provision exciting, vibrant and up to date. Four of our subject areas gained 100% overall satisfaction in the 2016 National Student Survey. More than 50% of the research output from our staff was graded as world leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*) in the most recent exercise. Other staff make films, run theatre productions or publish prose fiction or poetry. In sum, Arts is a powerhouse for the study of creativity and its expression. We welcome you to join us.
ISON A CT
Our intention is for our graduates to be informed, insightful and innovative in people-focussed professions, so each of our degrees engages with theory, policy and practice in a wide range of modules, and the Faculty has numerous opportunities for work-based learning and volunteering in the UK and overseas. Our staff are highly skilled practitioners who also undertake research in education and social policy and practice, and we take pride in the quality of our teaching and support for students: our teacher training programmes are rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and our academic studies in education are consistently rated in the top 10 university’s in England for overall satisfaction. We would love for you to join us!
