The University of Winchester has a vast array of Sports Facilities both on campus and at the local sports stadium, a short distance away. We have a small but dedicated team of staff whose aspirations are to offer the best facilities at competitive prices, knowledgeable and experienced staff offering great customer service as well access to sport and physical activity for all.

On main campus we are lucky to have a state of the art Life Fitness Gym located in Burma Student Village. It has been recently refurbished and is fully air-conditioned. You will find a wide range of Life Fitness equipment from cardiovascular and resistance machines to free weights. The top floor hosts a large cardio area providing bikes, running machines, cross trainers, rowing machines and more. There is also a stretching zone to get you ready for your workout and fixed resistance machines to improve your strength. Downstairs hosts changing rooms along with functional and weight training space. We offer gym challenges and gym workshops to help create a fun and enjoyable experience within our gym. THE UNIVERSITY GYM
Located about two kilometres from the Universityâ€™s main campus the the Sports Stadium is home to an 8-lane Athletics Track including areas to complete pole vault, shot put, javelin, high jump, long jump, triple jump and discus. There is also an All-Weather Pitch which offers a full pitch, 3 x 5aside pitches and 2 x half pitches. We also offer 2 x fully equipped lecture rooms. Winchester Sports Stadium is open 7 days a week, this is a great area to also hang-out and take full advantage of our CafĂŠ area. WINCHESTER SPORTS STADIUM
Each semester you will find a newly released Fitness & Wellbeing class timetable. Our classes give you the opportunity to take part in group fitness & wellbeing sessions. Classes range from low impact to high intensity classes. Why not get some motivation and train as a team?. All our classes are designed for all abilities and are led by qualified and dedicated instructors who are here to help achieve your goals. We encourage all our users to give our classes a go, meet new friends and find that all important motivation. Classes are included in our Gym Memberships but also available for external users, please ensure you book. They are held in our Fitness Studio located opposite KKB cafe by the duck pond. If youâ€™re looking for sports specific training/classes for your team this can also be arranged. Looking for a great venue for Tennis, Basketball, Netball, Badminton, Frisbee, Football, Volleyball and Cricket?. We are lucky to have 2 excellent venues on-campus for a wide range of different sports. Sports Hall Our Sports Hall is located in Bowers Building and is available to all staff, students and general public. Donâ€™t forget to book for your chosen activity. SPORTS HALL AND JOHN SHANNON SPORTS GROUND
GetActive’s aim is to increase engagement and participation on campus, this scheme is aimed for both University Staff and Students – why not get involved in our weekly complimentary non-competitive sessions that are catered for all abilities? You don’t even have to book, just rock-up and play – a great way to socialise and make new friends! We currently offer a wide-range of activities, but please keep your eyes peeled for our annual GetActive Festival and other one-off events. GetActive won the ‘Best Project’ at Winchester District Sports Awards, so now you know you are in safe hands! This scheme also offers volunteering opportunities, so if you are looking to increase your employability skills, boost your CV why not get in-touch.
