Alpha Team wins RBDF Basketball Lunch Bowl BRUTE guts and determination helped the men of Alpha Team power their way to win the basketball championship trophy at the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Basketball Lunch Bowl competition on Friday. In observance of the RBDF’s 38th anniversary and Health and Fitness Month, this tournament is one of the many sporting activities the officers and marines will be showcasing. The men and women of the Defence Force form the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta teams. The Basketball Lunch Bowl championship game, which was played at the Coral Harbour Base, pitted

the Alpha team against Charlie team. After racing to a 22-13 halftime lead, the Alpha team held on to win the game with a final score of 38-33. Leading the way for Alpha was Leading Seaman Otis Ferguson with 10 points with Marine Seamen Ivan Rolle and Marine Seaman Kirk Bain chipping in with nine points each. Marine Mechanic Elway Pickstock led Charlie team with nine points in a losing effort, and Marine Seaman Lorenzo Rolle added another eight points.
