Chamber Membership Campaign Nets 90 New Members
For the second consecutive year, Terry Merk, plant manager of American Yazaki, won the top membership recruiter award. Terry signed up nine new members this year and led the winning team that brought in a total of 24 new members. A life-time resident of Hall County, Terry has a photography business and is a member of the Chamber's Board of Directors, Industry Roundtable and Human Resources Council. Members of Terry's team – named the Captains of Commerce – included Sarita Madera, Homestar Financial; Robin Halstead, Greater Hall Chamber; Bernadette Mastracchio, The Times and Philip Wilheit, Jr, Wilheit Packaging. As top recruiter, Terry won $1,000, and each member of the team won two season passes to Lanier Islands, a one night stay at the Legacy Lodge at Lanier Islands, and two Gwinnett Braves Tickets. Chamber/SCORE Volunteer Steve Naughton's team came in a close second with 21 new members. Other Chamber Volunteers that recruited new members include Lila Weaver Westmoreland, Brenau University; Brett Fowler, Turner, Wood & Smith; Richie Aitken, American Family Insurance; Tracy Hoeltke, Netchex; Tate O'Rouke, University of North Georgia; Janet Kettyle, Kettyle Cars; Darryl Workman, BrandBank.
