LIVE MUSIC AND EVENTS January – April 2022 stollerhall.com
WELCOME BACK Welcome to 2022 at The Stoller Hall! A new year brings with it signs of hope and change. As an independent music venue we are celebrating ways we can bring about positive change through live music. Our new Sounds of Nature programme draws inspiration from the natural world, a theme which runs through all of our events in 2022. We’re learning to listen to the world around us through music, to get closer to our planet with a series of performances inspired by climate and nature and the rhythms of life. We start in February with Freedom to Roam: The Rhythms of Migration, a beautifully crafted journey in music and film. Exploring themes of climate change, conflict, restriction and empathy, the line-up features world renowned musicians; flautist Eliza Marshall and her co-writers (including Catrin Finch and Tabla player, Kuljit Bhamra MBE). Throughout the season, Sounds of Nature will celebrate nature and the way in which it has inspired music around the world. From an interactive installation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to folk music inspired by barn owls, to Peter Grimes’ Fantasy (reflecting on his conflict with the sea) and a beautifully atmospheric new composition by Adrienne Spilsbury inspired by Cheshire’s wildflower meadows, our programme is bursting with nature in all its raw and powerful glory. Meanwhile, we’re continuing to work towards more sustainable practices ourselves. From programming the best musical talent within our own region to ensuring our bar is stocked with sustainable products from local sources, we’re striving to make The Stoller Hall one of the UK’s most nature friendly music venues. You can help too! For every ticket purchased for events in our Sounds of Nature programme, we’ll donate at least £1 to City of Trees to help deliver a green recovery plan planting trees and restoring woodlands for the people and wildlife of Greater Manchester. We’re working hard to make sure all our audiences can connect with music and enjoy unforgettable live experiences at The Stoller Hall, and we hope you find something to enjoy amongst our wideranging programme. Have a great 2022 and we look forward to seeing you soon!
