VICE President Sara Duterte-Carpio on Sunday commended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on his success in governing a year after he took his oath of office as the country’s Chief Executive.
In a statement, Duterte-Carpio said that President Marcos proved in a year that his administration was very determined to fulfill his election promises made during their campaigning days as candidates.
“I am happy to be part of an administration that is committed to strengthening our country — and aggressively strengthening our economy; providing adequate work and livelihoods; addressing the challenge of poverty; providing support to sectors such as fishermen, farmers, and workers; building important infrastructure; improving the quality of education and health for Filipinos; and strengthening the Philippines’ relations with other countries.” she said.
Duterte-Carpio, Marcos’ thenrunning mate during the May 2022 National and Local elections took her oath as the 15th Vice-President on June 19, 2022, at Davao City, earlier than what the constitution has mandated for the Vice-President to take their oath of office.
