The reception was at the River Oaks Country Club, which was transformed into fabulous French gardens with dramatic cascading multicolored floral designs by Richard Flowers and The Events Company. Dinner was served at stations around the ballroom. From antipasti served on a marble and iron antique table to a hand-carved prosciutto station, a savory southern fried chicken station, a carbooverload bar of mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and grits with all of the toppings… to the specialty hand-shucked oyster bar called Landon’s Landings—the guests had no shortage of dinner choices. Latenight Brandy Freezes, French fries, sliders and Monte Cristo were also served. Richard Flowers and his team designed and executed the placement of the fresh roses that lined the archways of the country club that led the guests down the long, winding hallway into the ballroom. The outside veranda was draped in orchids that hung from the beams of the openaired tent, as well as a fountain filled with hydrangea. Large urns filled with roses were also peppered throughout the venue. Divisi Strings provided the music for cocktail hour, followed by Sharon Montgomery for dinner.

Since the bride’s parents gifted the newlyweds with a honeymoon to Hawaii, toward the end of the reception, flip-flops, leis, headpieces and grass skirts were handed out as the dancing continued to the tunes of the A Town A List band from Atlanta. Before the bride and groom left the venue, the bride changed into a strapless white silk taffeta dress designed by Miwa Fashions. As the newlyweds left, their friends and family tossed rose petals that paved the path to the vintage Rolls Royce awaiting them. As the car left the driveway, fireworks exploded for the final sendoff. Jennifer McCord Anderson graduated from Texas Christian University, and many of her Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters attended the wedding. Landon Anderson attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The newlyweds honeymooned in Kauai, Maui and Honolulu. They now reside in San Antonio where Landon is a Production Foreman at EOG Resources, and Jennifer is busy nesting, because the couple is expecting their first son in September.
