Solo a Voice
A sharing of thought And acquired Commiseration Within some belief It takes (at least) two To make a language And likewise A religion Solo a voice May warble at birds Or mimic The whistle of the wind
This virtuosity of sound Then assembles A repertoire of words Once there is another To listen and reprise
Therein lies The beauty of speech And the embedding Of ritual That demands For better Or (sometimes) worse Thus it is our lot Having been gifted This legacy To yet be able To freely parse same That we may not Lose the purity Of that Solo a voice!
