Who is Slay Magazine? Slay Magazine is a lifestyle magazine that SLAYs all areas of life! Since 2015, this international publication has continued to be a positive media platform in a world that can sometimes be extremely negative. Slay Magazine has continued to be a distinguished media influencer for both youth and adults of all ethnicity while providing inspiration and information on the latest news, fashion, beauty, relationship, entertainment, business, wellness, technology, and much more. Slay Magazine’s lifestyle publication is published annually in November. In 2022, Slay Magazine will introduce their fashion & editorial magazine that will be a miniature version of their lifestyle publication. This new magazine will be published bi-annually in June & November.

Why should you SLAY with Slay Magazine? SLAYing with Slay Magazine means that you are supporting a movement for a cause. Slay Magazine’s platform has been built on promoting positivity, respect, inspiration, and empowerment to everyone. Our events are designed to support 501C3 nonprofit organizations that are in need of funding. We typically support nonprofit organizations that are new organizations or organizations that do not have a strong presence. We chose these organizations with the hope that we can utilize our platform to raise awareness to these organizations to aide in these organizations receiving funding so that they continue their mission. How will we SLAY 2022? 2020 was a year of change, growth, and encountering obstacles that the world could only imagine encountering. In an effort to ensure the safety of our team and our supporters, we postponed all 2020 events until 2021. We utilized this time to grow our brand and expand our platform. In 2021, our focus was being innovative. We streamlined processes to ensure the safety of our team and supporters as they attended our casting calls, rehearsals, and events. In 2022, our focus is growth and faith. We have continued our partnership with barnes & noble for our publications, we are continuing to focus on securing additional platforms for our publications, we are partnering with other business professionals with the common goals, and we are expanding the location for our spring/summer fashion & entertainment show. We are honored to continue our event sponsorship with curls and are dedicated to building relationships with other sponsors as we prepare to slay for 2022 and beyond! 2015: Slay Magazine Launch Party Production: 1st Fall/Winter Production On October 23, 2015, we produced our first show. This show was produced to introduce Slay Magazine to our SLAYers since Slay Magazine was founded in May 2015. During this show, we provided a platform for over 10 high fashion designers, over 30 models, over 4 entertainers ranging from a live band to poets to musicians, and over 10 business owners. Although the night was a rain storm and flooding disaster on the outside of Lofty Spaces, we SLAYed with over 200 attendees on the inside of Lofty Spaces. Our attendees SLAYed in Dallas from a variety of states such as New York, South Carolina, Missouri, and more to support our first event. Our special guest list consisted of professional athletes, council members, celebrity musicians, and more. This show set the tone for the future Slay Magazine shows and we were up for the SLAYtastic challenge. Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 7,000 views. A portion of the proceeds from this show was donated to Heroes Sports.


2016: Fall into Formation (Dallas) Production: 2nd Fall/Winter Production On November 11, 2016, we produced our 2nd annual show. Our “Fall into Formation” show was held on the Friday to kick off Veteran’s Day weekend. This show is the reason we decided to continue hosting our fall show during the same weekend. Our fall show is designed to pay homage to veterans. The uniqueness of this show is that we unveiled the cover for the first issue of Slay Magazine. Our first cover girl was none other than Lady Jade. Lady Jade is an on-air personality for Dallas’ top radio station, K104. Lady Jade has an amazing heart and loves her city which she shows this in her daily actions in her community. We wanted our first cover to spotlight someone that has the principles and values to which Slay Magazine stands. During this show, we also provided a platform for over 10 high fashion designers, over 30 models, over 5 entertainers performers to musicians, and over 14 business owners with over 300 in attendance. Our attendees and models SLAYed in Dallas from a variety of states such as New York, Mississippi, Missouri, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and more to SLAY with Slay Magazine. Our special guest list and models consisted of professional athletes, WNBA cheerleaders, council members, well-known musicians, scouting agencies, and more. This show raised the expectations that were set from our 2015 show and raised the expectation for the future Slay Magazine shows. We were up for another SLAYtastic challenge. Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 10,000 views.

2017: 50 Shades of Slay (Dallas) Production: 3rd Fall/Winter Production On November 10, 2017, we produced our 3rd annual show and birthed “50 Shades of Slay”. We continued the trend for our “Fall into Formation” show by producing our show on the Friday to kick off Veteran’s Day weekend. We chose the name “50 Shades of Slay” because our shows showcase the different layers of Slay Magazine. The name “50 Shades of Slay” is not to be mistaken with the well-known name of “50 Shades of Grey”. There is nothing provocative about our shows and all of our shows are family-friendly since our first designer is a kid designer that is a designer of kid’s fashion. The uniqueness of this show is that we provided both digital and print copies (for purchase) to the attendees. On August 20, 2017, we held our first in-person casting call for models, designers, glam team, and performers. At our casting call, we had over 200 attendees ready to SLAY for our show. During this show, we provided a platform for over 10 high fashion designers, 50 models, over 5 entertainers performers to musicians, and over 14 business owners with over 300 in attendance. The uniqueness of this show was our beauty introduction. We introduced our love for hair with a miniature cut party performance by none other than Honey George Hair. Our attendees, models, glam team, and vendors SLAYed in Dallas from a variety of states such as New York, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Michigan, and more to SLAY with Slay Magazine. Our special guest list and models consisted of WNBA cheerleaders, professional athletes, well-known musicians, well-known actors, scouting agencies, and more. This show raised the expectations that were set from our previous shows and raised the expectation for the future Slay Magazine shows. We were up for another SLAYtastic challenge. Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 12,000 views.

2018: 50 Shades of Slay (Dallas) Production: 4th Fall/Winter Production On November 9, 2018, we produced our 4th annual show. The uniqueness of this show is that we unveiled our second cover girl, Glam By Cham. Glam By Cham is a celebrity makeup artist, mother, and serial entrepreneur. Glam by Cham was founded by Chamonique Short. Glam by Cham was chosen as our second cover girl because she portrays the “everyday parent”. She’s a mother working hard to build a life and legacy for her family. On August 19, 2018, we held our in-person casting call for models, designers, glam team, and performers. At our casting call, we had over 200 attendees ready to SLAY for our show. These attendees SLAYed in Dallas from Louisiana, Oklahoma, Ohio, and New Jersey to audition for our show. During this show, we provided a platform for over 10 high fashion designers, 80 models, over 5 entertainers performers to musicians, and over 14 business owners with over 450 in attendance. Our attendees, models, glam team, and vendors SLAYed in Dallas from a variety of states such as New York, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Jersey, California, and more to SLAY with Slay Magazine. Our special guest list and models consisted of WNBA cheerleaders, professional athletes, well-known actors, well-known musicians, scouting agencies, and more. This show raised the expectations that were set from our previous shows and raised the expectation for the future Slay Magazine shows. We were up for another SLAYtastic challenge. Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 13,000 views. A portion of the proceeds from this show was donated to Heroes Sports.


2019: 50 Shades of Slay (Dallas) Production: 5th Production (1st Spring/Summer Production) For 2019, we decided to SLAY it up a notch. Every year we were asked why we only produce one show per year. For 2019 we decided to SLAY two shows. On June 30, 2019, we will pilot our 5th show that was our first summer show.

On February 24, 2019, we held our in-person casting call for models, designers, glam team, and performers for our June 30th show. Our panelists consisted of a celebrity fashion boutique owner, celebrity musical geniuses, a well-known production organizer, and a celebrity publicist. At our casting call, we had over 200 attendees ready to SLAY for our show. These attendees SLAYed in Dallas from Louisiana, Oklahoma, California, Arkansas, and Kansas to audition for our show. During our show on June 30th, we released the full copy of our 2nd issue of Slay Magazine. We were overwhelmed by the number of purchases of both individual issues and subscriptions that were purchased during our show and after our show. Since our first spring/summer show was a total success, we will continue to produce spring/summer shows annually. A portion of the proceeds from the June 30th show was donated to Blown Away Adventures.


2019: 50 Shades of Slay (Dallas) Production: 6th production (5th Fall/Winter Production) On August 18, 2019, we held our in-person casting call for models, designers, glam team, and performers for our show. Our panelists consisted of a celebrity fashion boutique owner, celebrity musical geniuses, a talent agency founder, and a celebrity publicist. At our casting call, we had over 230 attendees ready to SLAY for our show. These attendees SLAYed in Dallas from Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Arkansas, and Mississippi to audition for our show. On November 8, 2019, we eagerly produced our 5th annual fall/winter show which was also our 6th production. Our attendees SLAYed in Dallas from a variety of states such as North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New York, and more to SLAY with Slay Magazine. Our special guest list consisted of professional athletes, well-known reality television cast members, well-known musicians, scouting agencies, and more. This show raised the expectations that were set from our previous shows and raised the expectation for the future Slay Magazine shows. We were up for another SLAYtastic challenge. Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 15,000 views. A portion of the proceeds from the November 8th show was donated to Dreams Really Exist Foundation and Slay for Bell’s Palsy.


2020 shows were postponed due to COVID-19.


2021: 50 Shades of Slay (Dallas) Production: 7th production (2nd annual Spring/Summer Production)

2021 was our year of being innovative! On February 21, 2021, we held our in-person casting call for models, designers, glam team, and performers for our show. This casting call was like no other casting call because it was our first “post COVID” casting call. This casting call was unique because we were forced to create innovative ways to expedite our process, maintain social distancing, and be more digital. This casting call was the above successful and laid the foundation for future casting calls. Our panelists consisted of a celebrity musical genius, an NFL agent, and internationally published models/actors. At our casting call, we have over 200 attendees ready to SLAY for our show! These attendees SLAYed in DFW from Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. On June 13, 2021, we anxiously produced our 7th production that not only coupled as our 2nd annual spring/summer production but coupled as our 1st “post COVID” production. This production was extremely important to us because we knew that with so much going on in the world that our SLAYers needed a night of SLAY! We made every effort to social distance and expedite our seating process. We also encouraged online purchases to expedite the process for our SLAYers. Just as our 1st spring/summer production exceeded our expectations; our 2nd spring/summer production raised the bar! Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 22,000 views and there were over 450 SLAYers that attended our show. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Slay for Bell’s Palsy.


2021: 50 Shades of Slay (Dallas) Production: 8th production (6th annual Fall/Winter Production) 2021 was our year of being innovative! On August 15, 2021, we held our in-person casting call for models, designers, glam team, and performers for our show. During this casting call, we continued to elevate our “post COVID” procedures that were implemented during the spring/summer casting call. We continued to streamline our electronic application process and ensured that all comp cards, professional resumes, and other submission documents were uploaded with each attendee’s online application. We created QR codes for ease of applying for walk-in attendees and other innovative procedures. This casting call was the above successful and laid the foundation for future casting calls. Our panelists consisted of a celebrity musical genius, an NFL agent, and internationally published models/actors. At our casting call, we have over 200 attendees ready to SLAY for our show! These attendees SLAYed in DFW from Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. On November 14, 2021, we anxiously produced our 8th production that coupled as our 6th annual fall/winter production. Our fall/winter productions always hold a special place in our hearts because it is our “bring it home” production. This production carries this name because our fashion & entertainment productions began with our fall/winter production! We continued to make every effort to social distance and expedite our seating process. Our entire production team was SLAYnomenal. Our designers consisted of celebrity designers, emerging designers, and even a former NFL player debuting his new sports line. Our Facebook event page had a weekly analytics of over 18,000 views and there were over 400 SLAYers that attended our show. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Slay for Bell’s Palsy.

Non-profits: Slay for Bell’s Palsy & TBD Production: 9th production (3rd spring/summer production) How will we SLAY? 2022 is our year for GROWTH & FAITH! We are taking a leap of faith by expanding our spring/summer fashion & entertainment production at a new venue. Our new location offers a large stage, seven (7) televisions, three (3) bars, and so much more! We are also preparing for growth as we prepare to release the magazine cover for not only our lifestyle magazine but the new fashion & entertainment magazine that we are debuting in June 2022. We will continue to provide exclusive designs from fashion designers around the world, continue to cast professional models that SLAY the runway, continue to cast top notch performances by various genres, and continue to showcase vendors that offer exquisite shopping selections. Who will receive donations? Slay for Bell’s Palsy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to help those affected by Bell’s Palsy and strokes. Slay for Bell’s Palsy has a passion of providing empathy, financial assistance, emotional support, and awareness to those affected or the family members affected by bell’s palsy and/or strokes.

We will, however, continue to provide exclusive designs from fashion designers around the world, continue to cast professional models that SLAY the runway, continue to cast top notch performances by various genres, and continue to showcase vendors that offer exquisite shopping selections.
