Part gig. Part theatre. Based on people’s love affair with music, FANS is an eclectic mix of stories told through raucous live music, scripted drama and verbatim theatre. Full of emotion, humour and musical pulse. Featuring real fan confessions from UK music fans. It’s a show for anyone who’s ever loved music.

FANS includes well known hits and original music. It’s a loud, heart-warming tribute to music lovers. FANS won the 2016 Bridging the Gap award. It’s supported using public funding from Arts Council England and The Sunday for Sammy Trust. In 2016 FANS completed a successful NE tour with multiple sell out performances; ARC (Stockton), Northern Stage (Newcastle), Alnwick Playhouse, Arts Centre Washington and Pop Recs (Sunderland).

FANS Clubs are hosted at the venue or a nearby community hub. It’s a chance for music fans to come together and listen to music and share stories prior to or following the show. FANS ONLINE HUB FANS stories are crowd-sourced online at bit.ly/FANSTORIES FAN INTERVIEWS 
 
 Short one-on-one or small group interviews are arranged with local music fans. A public call out is issued in the run up to the show to recruit people for this element of the piece. Some of these stories will be featured in the show or included as part of the pre / post show elements. They’re also shared online for people to listen to in their own time.

THE SIX TWENTY The Six Twenty is a Live Theatre Associate Company based in Newcastle. We’re dedicated to creating playful and immersive work that is bold, ambitious and fun. There’s no formula to our work, but the audience is always at the heart of everything we make.

The collaborative nature of theatre, and working with cross-disciplinary artists, is central to the theatre we make. By creating entertaining and engaging theatre, we hope to produce work that attracts non-regular theatre goers and first time attendees (as well as theatre fans. We make work that is visually striking and memorable.
