The Shops at Wailea was recently featured in Shopping Center Weekly, a retail industry newsletter from the publishers of Tactics Magazine and Marketing Trendz that highlights retail news, events and promotions from across the globe.

Congratulations go out to The Cos Bar team on their 10-year anniversary at The Shops at Wailea.

The article focused on our work with the Google Maps team, who recently shot images of the center for its popular “Street View” feature (now live), and specifically the trio of hula wahine we arranged to have included in the shoot as an ambient promotion for the center. You can find the full article at:

LETTER FROM THE G.M. August heralds the annual observance Admissions Day in Hawaii, which was attained statehood on August 21, 1959. I was a child living in rural O’ahu then and I vividly recall the clanging of pots and pans as people took to the streets and celebrated becoming the 50th state in the greatest country in the free world. Did you know that Maui has two seasons? Hard to believe, but we actually have a summer (April to October) and a winter (November through March). Because of our location in relation to the equator and the mountain ranges and interior valleys, Maui’s weather is pretty diverse; rainforest in Haiku, cool and clear in Kula, arid and hot in Lahaina and, of course, perfection in Wailea! Yes, beautiful Wailea’s weather is nearly almost perfect, hence why so many visit, and even more return.
