making sure the coolers were filled and most important of all, making sure you had an ice cold frosty-one in your hand at all times. The guys did recognize the efforts of the Prospects and they were rewarded with their own personal washroom facilities. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out why there was different color port-apotties. It wasn’t until Jay came out of the odd color one in celebration with raised hands and he was met by a round of applause that I realized the pink one was theirs only. Even then my pal Tony had to tell me that the sign on the door said Prospects only. I need new glasses! I mention Jay because he is one of the Prospects that I personally know. I met Jay a while back when he first returned from his last tour of Afghanistan. He is the nephew of my long time good buddy and Brother-from-another-Mother, Gilles...so basically he’s family. The North Wall Rider’s Association with Chapter’s in Windsor and Hamilton had a large showing and they rolled in just in time for the BBQ steak dinner. It was also good to see George Winney from Forever Free Motorcycle Hearst Services in attendance. He is a Veteran and active member of the North Wall Rider’s Association. With their large showing the NWRA was recognized with a plaque at day’s end for having the largest number of members in attendance. There were a number of Veteran Clubs in attendance including one of the newest, the Coalition Crew with representatives from Mississauga and Sudbury. To attend the annual Support the Troops Bash you don’t have to be a Veteran or a member in a Veterans Club. All you have to do is show up with the willingness to have a great time and be sure to bring along the sense of humour. I heard of some of the memorable comedic moments of last year’s late night antics one of

them was a report of a guy watching the band play wearing nothing but combat boots and hat and a fluorescent limegreen cock-sock. Although nobody admittedly got a look at his smiling face it’s believed he had a moniker that reflects the largest state in the US. On the map that’s Texas! I won’t tell you any of the other antics as there is such a thing as a time and place...you’ll have to come out next year and create your own memorable moments. Support our Troops In Essex Tim
