216. Gorgeous and Rare French Bisque Paris Bébé by Emile Jumeau with Signed Body 28” (71 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated facial modeling and very full lower cheeks, large amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multifeathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with richly-shaded outlined lips, impressed dimples at lip corners, philtrum and chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, lovely vintage rose and ivory silk dress, undergarments, bonnet, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent, there is a 1” faint line at right crown rim (possibly original). Marks: Paris Bébé Tete Depose 12 (head) Paris Depose (and Eiffel Tower symbol on body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1892, the model was presented contemporaneously with the Jumeau 200 series art characters and closely resembles the 233 model from that series. Value Points: gorgeous bébé with fine creamy bisque and rich decoration, original wig, pate, body and body finish. $4500/6500
