182. German Bisque Glass-Eyed Character, 536, by Bahr and Proschild 22� (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with tiny tongue tip, blonde mohair curly wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, some light body repaint. Marks: 536 11. Comments: Bahr and Proschild, circa 1915. Value Points: rare glass-eyed variation of the 536 model has charming modeled dimples, and is wearing a wonderful antique costume. $1800/2300

183. German Mohair Bellhop Monkey with Yes/ No Mechanism 14� (36 cm.) With felt mask face, large inset glass eyes with brown shaped eye sockets, felt ears, brown mohair hair, felt hands and feet, sewn-on felt bellhop costume in black and red felt with gold braid trim, sewnon red felt cap, and having yes/no mechanism that operates by movement of his tail. Excellent condition, few faint spots on hat. Germany, circa 1925. $500/700
