JAN/FEB!2016! volume!23!

Chantel Atkins (CEO/Owner) I started The Rhythmic Lounge in December 2010. At its start, it was a fairly simple website with the purpose of giving people a place to promote their talents and network. I had no idea that less than two years later it would transform into something much bigger. The website then underwent a complete revamp in July 2011, with a brand new look and the addition of many new features, including the creation of The Rhythmic Lounge Radio. Following suit, the radio started out as merely a 24/7 stream of hand-picked music submitted by talented musicians from the website but is now an integral part of the company. Listeners from all over the world tune in regularly to hear the wide variety of music, as well as the educational, musical and talk-radio shows that we now host. The radio’s success has only made me realize The Rhythmic Lounge could take me in new directions everyday rather than the other way around, which is why a digital magazine seemed like the next step. I’m incredibly proud to present to you hardworking artists and entertainers in this magazine and on the site, so enjoy! Be sure to go to www.therhythm iclounge.com to see the profiles for the great talent displayed in this issue and take a look at our new magazine site at http://w w w .trlm agazine.com Thanks for the support, and happy reading!

Nemesis De Catalyst Hackney, London Nemesis became a Christian in 1993. After seeing some of his friends give their lives to Christ, he accepted the invitation to attend a church service and later became a Christian. He notes that while he did not grow up in the church, there was always a belief in his heart that God was real. As a youngster he was initially a follower of the original Hip Hop craze, naming Run Dmc, LL Cool J, The Fat boys, Mantronix and Whodini amongst others as his sources of inspiration. During the late 80’s he was captivated by the then emerging Dancehall scene and he discarded the Hip Hop following for the music form from Jamaica, which is also the birthplace of his mother. Nemesis grew up in the era of listening to sound systems like King Jammy’s, Creation, Stereo One and Killamanjaro. He was inspired by artists like Lieutenant Stitchie and Papa San, and later on influenced by Ninja Man and Bounty Killer. Throughout the late 80’s and early 90’s, he took the opportunity to perform anywhere the opportunity presented itself. Having become a Christian, his ability to free style (in a reggae style) was noted by the leadership of the church and being in a church with strong Caribbean influences he was often called upon spontaneously to perform his lyrics. However, the work of the ministry remained at the forefront of his endeavors within the church. For a period of approximately 20 years, Nemesis served in various offices, gradually moving up the ministerial ranks from layperson – to usher, to Youth leader. He led in various auxiliaries, became a prayer chaplain and finally served in the pastoral office, assuming responsibility for a church, which had branches in the Caribbean and the UK. This period also gave him invaluable insight into the church world and ministry. It allowed him to see the Lord at work in the lives of people and gave him the joy of seeing people come into deliverance and maturity in the kingdom of God. However, it also allowed him to be acquainted with the difficult aspects of kingdom work and ministry, and it formed much of his inspiration and biblical grounding for his ministry of music. In 2006, while serving within church, he lost his voice and (consequently) the ability to DJ. Because of the vocal difficulties, he serious contemplated abandoning the gifting and tool of expression God had given him. However the sense of the calling and purpose continued to resurface in his heart and he knew that it was something that was ordained by God for him to do. Nemesis, having sought medical counsel, entered a process of vocal rehabilitation, which allowed him to regain his lost ability. Following on from his recovery and feeling compelled by his own conviction to address some of the real issues within the kingdom, he first embarked on a mini project entitled "Talkin Bout Lust". It was a project that he worked on in his own studio. The project was self-explanatory and was intended to measure his ability to record and perform as he continued within his vocal rehabilitation. He combined the tracks with the preaching voice of Apostle Reid of Spiritual Breakthrough Ministries, as a challenge to Christians to face the reality of an area of struggle that many feel uncomfortable to address. This project remains accessible and is free to download. Flesh War was the next project. It was a project that had been compiled over several years while he served within the ministry. A timeless message which is perhaps in it’s time more than ever, as Christians continue to witness the relentless assault in this modern age; targeted at the old ‘Adamic’ nature of the flesh. Nemesis has now completed a new album entitled Still Standing Strong. It is an album that contains material from his early church days as well as more recent material. This album is testament to the work and grace of God is Nemesis’ life and it celebrates his preservation throughout all of his experiences. However, it is also a celebration for others who have also faced challenges but are still standing and overcoming in spite of it all. Nemesis is a preacher of the word, with a pastoral heart and a desire to see people set free. He defines his delivery as a combination of music and the ministry of Word. Nemesis continues to strive towards fulfilling the meaning of his DJ name – Nemesis (divine retribution and righteousness indignation) and Catalyst (meaning to bring about a change).

The Rhythmic Lounge: Please describe what you do, for those who aren’t familiar with you! Nemesis De Catalyst: I am a Christian minister of the gospel and also a reggae gospel artist, which means that I perform gospel music in a Jamaican rap style. TRL: Where did the name “Nemesis De Catalyst” come from? NDC: Nemesis De Catalyst was the artist name that I chose because it described the approach that I take to my music and the impact that I desired to have. Nemesis means an agent with a righteous cause and Catalyst means something that creates a change. I call the “De” my middle name ! My musical motivation comes from my life of faith, and my objective is to use my music as a force for change, as well as enjoyment. TRL: Being raised in London, would you say it provided you with more opportunities or challenges when it comes to your overall career? NDC: London is a unique and amazing place, and it is incredibly diverse. There are so many cultures that have settled in the capital. As a result the music that comes out of London reflects this. It’s an amazing fusion of music that often creates it own unique sounds. Coming from London, I was therefore exposed to lots of different music forms and this has really influenced my approach and thinking as an artist. I think that when you listen to my music you can hear some of those wider musical influences coming through. TRL: Who or what have been your biggest influences? NDC: The musical influences on my life are numerous in terms of artists and musical styles. It began with hearing my father playing Calypso, Soca and Reggae in my house. As I grew up all of my brothers and sisters listened to different music types, i.e. Motown, Soul, RnB, Lovers Rock and Dub etc. I started listening to Hip-hop when I became a teenager and later on I moved on to Dancehall music. After this when I became a Christian,I started listening to Gospel music. Music therefore has always had a huge impression on my life and it was my dream for many years, to be able to make my own music and perform it. In addition, the combination of my faith and my experiences is the other factor that motivates me musically, especially my experiences. The experiences of my life have really shaped me as a person. They have also therefore shaped my musical identity and brand. I think my experiences qualify me to speak and also create the material for my songs. I think it makes my songs genuine. TRL: Are there any upcoming events or projects that you’d like to mention? NDC: My latest album, Still Standing Strong is officially released through ITunes and all other Internet mediums on 29.02.16. Alongside the album I have registered the hashtag #stillstandingstrong And it would be fantastic if your readers could join the twub #stillstandingstrong. Twubs is a platform, which allows you to register hashtags and build campaigns through it. By readers joining the hashtag twub #stillstandingstrong, this would allow them to connect with me, but also and more importantly they can tweet their own triumphs in adversity or tweet messages of support to others who they want to applaud for their courage and tenacity in the face of adversity. All they need to do is to add #stillstandingstrong onto their tweets and I can connect with them as I will see those tweets coming through. They can also follow me at @NemesisDe To me it’s a way of celebrating the things that they have come through, whether emotional, relational, financial, spiritual or otherwise. That’s what Still Standing Strong is all about. It’s a testimony relating to coming through adversity, and recognizing and celebrating it.

The Rhythmic Lounge: How would you describe your music style, for those who aren’t familiar with you? I don't categorize my music style because my music is based off feelings & Soul. Don't expect the normal coming from me. My music is real and the truth u can feel my pain and my happiness.

TRL: Who have been your biggest musical influences? My biggest musical influence came from the late greats such as Tupac, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, and many more legends.

TRL: You went from living in Atlanta to Arkansas! How was that transition musically and would you say it provided you with more opportunities or challenges when it comes to your overall career? Moving from Atlanta to Arkansas benefited me in a good way. Atlanta's pace of living is very fast. Moving to Arkansas gave me a chance to slow my lifestyle down and look more into my own life. Which gives me more to speak on.

TRL: What can we look forward to from you in the near future? You can look forward too me being on next year’s Freshman XXL cover as the next big thing. Tracy Hamlin

(Baltimore, Maryland / Virginia) By Ross Guity

Throughout history, planet Earth has been sonically blessed with some of the most incredibly gifted female signing voices the likes of Etta James, Whitney Houston, Teena Marie, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Ledisi, and the list can go on forever and many a days. Entering into the year of 2016, immensely talented veteran singer/songwriter Tracy Hamlin will be a powerful force to be reckoned with in her own, uniquely special right and earn the globe-wide respect from fans of 'real' music vibrations. Her 2015 independently-released 16-track long-play 'No Limits' was well-received internationally - most notably in the United Kingdom where it successfully reached No. 1 on the Soul music charts. 'It's been a blessing beyond words, and it's great to know that people are still genuinely going after the quality of the music.' said Hamlin during our recent phone chat. Here's a bit more of my awesome conversation with Tracy. The Rhythmic Lounge: How would you describe the musicality of Tracy Hamlin? Tracy Hamlin: It consists of a voice that is classically trained that has kept her ears to all music genres combined with my life experiences - both the good and the bad. My vibes are an infusion of old-school with the new-new. You'll get a 'gumbo' of music - different genres along with hearing all of the characteristics of my voice. I am a singer that can truly deliver whatever the song calls for based on the raw emotions I project vocally on every track I record. TRL: What do the initials 'DMH' stand for in the name of your independent record label DMH Records? TH: They are the initials to the name of my late, beloved, beautiful mother Dorothy Marie Hamlin. TRL: When fans come to see you perform live for the very first time, what can they expect when you take the stage? TH: The fans will get a seasoned and very disciplined singer - therefore my vocals are on point from start to finish when I perform live. I love to entertain the fans and put on a quality show that they deserve to be a witness of. I stay in practice all the time to continue evolving with my craft.

TRL: What's the best advice you can give to a musically-talented young lady who aspires to go 'next level' with it? TH: It is imperative to learn the business and understand that the music industry is a business. It is also important that you constantly work in order to perfect your craft. Being a woman in this industry, it is crucial that you stand your ground with integrity. Stay true to yourself and teach people how to treat you! TRL: The art of RHYTHM is TH: The movements of the peaks and valleys - big or small, and the different frequencies of it that contributes to the rhythm of life. I think a huge chunk of it is defined by our character and who we eventually become. www.TracyHamlin.com

where creativity lives

JAN/FEB / / 17

Antion Scales I am an up and coming artist from Greensboro NC…a city where creativity and talent is on every corner, but the passion and the ambition to mold that creativity into a craft is scarce. Music has always been apart of my life. But for the past few years it seems music has become my life. From Writing songs at 4, sometimes 5 in morning. To not getting any sleep, just to complete songs. From listening to songs hundreds of times, just to add or take out sounds that the average artist or listener wouldn't be able to identify. I consider myself a perfectionist. Which is an understatement. I fiend for improvement! I operate on persistence and positivity. Hoping that my music will dwell in people's hearts. Not just locally, but globally. In my city you have two choices…stay around the negativity long enough to get consumed in it or stay around the negativity long enough to make positive changes. I made changes. My music is a testament! A testament to what people without options can accomplish. The emotions I felt when I didn't have much. These same emotions are translated into every lyric, every song, and every harmony. It's safe to say that I live through my music. My music not only speaks for me. It speaks for people without a voice. The name of my mix tape is "ENTITLED". I did not come up with the name out of arrogance. Or out of my appreciation for fancy words. The name was a solution. A solution to why I went through what I did. Every person has their own problems and afflictions, but its up to us on what we do once problems arrive. I took my issues, and used them as fuel, motivation if you will. Motivation to make better for myself! Motivation to elevate my talents into my crafts! Motivation to take my music to the next level! Every person should feel entitled to something, but what we deserve is never just handed to us. At a young age I felt I was entitled to more. So I worked for it, and worked for it and eventually "more" came. Now here I am twenty years old. And now I feel I am entitled to the world. So I will continue to work, and work, and then work even harder until I can claim what I am "ENTITLED" to. I started making music just to arouse the attention of my peers. Now that I have grown older and gained musical acumen, my interests consist of global recognition, becoming a positive influence for my generation, and improving myself and my music with each day. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/antion.scales Twitter: https://twitter.com/AntionScales IG: @Salute_My_Genius ReverbNation: https://www.reverbnation.com/antionscales SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/antionscales336

The Rhythmic Lounge: Please introduce yourself and give the readers a brief background for those who aren’t familiar with you! Antion Scales: Well first my name is Antion Scales (like "Antoine" fisher) and I am from Greensboro, NC. I think i was about 9 years old when I decided that I wanted to become a musician. I vividly remember the day. I remember battling my cousin in a rap battle In front of basically all of my family and friends. My cousin was much older than me, and at the time he was the self-proclaimed "best rapper" in the family. He was good, but not good enough to own that title. So I remember he came out strong, joking and clowning on me, you know the normal rap battle stuff. As it came closer to my turn, I remember having feelings of anxiety and anticipation on how I would do. I would always recite and write rhymes in my room to myself but never publicly, so my turn came. And I don't remember what I said, but all I remember is all of my family and friends going wild for the words I had said. And in that moment I had became the "best rapper" in family. And from that point the title "best rapper” seemed to stick with me everywhere I went, School, Church etc. Here I am 20 years old now, and that title still sticks with me. Now that I have grown older and grown more wiser with music. I realize I don't make music for the title. I make music for the emotions I felt when I was 9. Whenever I get behind a microphone I still fell those emotions, and that's how I know this is real. The feelings of being anxious, and not knowing if you will succeed or fail. To me is everything. And that is why I do this. TRL: Being from North Carolina, would you say it provided you with more opportunities or challenges when it comes to your overall career? AS: Being from North Carolina I believe it provided me with a bit of both challenges and opportunities but more opportunities than challenges. Being from Greensboro, I have the opportunity to create an identity and become the first musician that I know of out of my city. But then that's where the challenges come in. Being from Greensboro a city not really known for musical talent. That means I have to work extra harder to promote, and to get my name and my music out there. North Carolina has already has been put on the map by J. Cole. Which has gained us a little more respect and attention. Which gives me an opportunity. But the challenge is going to be stepping out from underneath that J. Cole umbrella, and having my own sound and my own story for people to listen to. TRL: Who or what have been your biggest influences? AS: I would have to say, my biggest influences are the people I surround myself with. Those everyday people, that go through everyday problems but handle those issues with a smile on their face. Those people that help one another, not for a reward or for a couple likes on Facebook, but help because they are able to. These are the people that influence me to do better. These are the people that influence me to stay driven and motivated. I can’t look to someone who is rich, and who doesn’t have a care in the world to influence me. I might try to emulate the steps they took to get where they are at, but I can’t say that influences me. Eviction notices Influences me. Figuring out where my next meal will come from influences me. This is why I surround myself with folks like myself, people who seek better, and are willing to fight and work hard to get what they want. TRL: What can we look forward to from you in the near future? AS: I’m currently working on putting my second mix tape together to start off this New Year right. My first mix tape "ENTITLED" was kind of sneak peek to who I am, and the experiences I went through. This new project I’m working on now will be compilation of passion filled new sounds, fused with complex lyrics. As of right now my team and I are pushing for a mid March, early April release date. So make sure you stay on the lookout. !

Marion'Forget' ' Ontario, Canada

My dad who was a draftsman, had an unique and inspiring way to channel the energies of a hyper little girl, he would hand me a huge piece of drawing paper and some pencils so i could draw while he worked on his current project. Since, i cannot remember a time without a pad or lose paper and pencil as my constant companion. Though i did not have any formal art instruction until high school. I was exposed to arts with books and material and crafts, with my mom who designed and made craft ideas from mini Santa's to fancy embroideries. The art and creativity was a big part of my childhood. After starting another art course, the demands and rewards of motherhood saw to it that it was put on the back burner but always simmering. When i wasn't doing art, i was always doing some kind of creative activity from model building to crochet, designing my own patterns. in time, when circumstance allowed, i went back to school. One diploma at Academy of Learning for Pc Support Specialist, then the second at Niagara College For Graphic Fundamentals And Fine Arts. My influences range from Neolithic to 19th century impressionist art on up to present day. You will see i have taken to the impressionist period and can see the influences in many pieces of my work. Little incidents in just living an ordinary life spark a creative drive to a new painting or piece that emerges from that speck of inspiration. The past 4-5 years has been both a blossoming of output on a mooded commercial success. The critical acclaim spurs my creative drive to continuously push back the boundaries of my art. I cannot know where my art will take me but i do aspire to exhibit in places like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver as well as stepping out of Canada to enter the international art world with a first stop to New York City. My ultimate goal is to become an internationally known artist. Marion was also recently chosen to be included in the Norman Felix Gallery… “Norman Felix Gallery is an independent art gallery located at 445 Adelaide Street. Founded in 2006, Norman Felix Gallery has steadily expanded to represent a variety of over 100 talented Canadian artists. We offer an array of contemporary paintings, photographs, illustrations, and sculptures by both emerging and established independent artists. Our collective showcasing program is ground breaking and focused on Canadian Artist.” For commission, contact me at mar_forget@yahoo.ca website http://mydesignsstudio.com facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Designs-by-mar/243157785736691 linkedin http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/marion-forget/43/17b/906 twitter https://twitter.com/mar_forget google plus https://plus.google.com/107126130074203501293

The Rhythmic Lounge: Was there an "aha" moment that made you say, "I want to be a musician"? Ron Handy: Coming from a musical household where everyone in the house played an instrument and/or sang definitely had an impact on me, but my “aha” moment came when I was in high school. I had a wonderful band director, Farrell Duncombe, who saw some potential in me and allowed me to go as far as I wanted to go under his guidance. I was the saxophone section leader and, as a teenager, was allowed to arrange musical selections and conduct them in rehearsals. The fire within me was raging once I stood in front of the band for the first time to conduct my very first marching band arrangement (laughs). Honestly, it didn’t turn out that great but Mr. Duncombe encouraged me to keep at it. I was so determined to practice that Mr. Duncombe asked the school principal if I could have a key to the band room. I think he was tired of me “bugging” him (laughs). His request was granted and I was able to practice in the band room at any time. I loved it and my desire to be a good musician (along with being a responsible young man) was of “high priority.”

TRL: You play several instruments! How did that come about? RH: Wow! That’s a good question! As I stated earlier, my family had instruments around the house all the time and it sparked my interest to see how each one operated. Several years ago I worked with John Gibbs, a fantastic musician who owns a music store here in Montgomery. Whenever I was in the store I would watch customers come in to purchase different instruments. To my surprise and amazement, John would demonstrate each instrument that was requested. I don’t mean “tinker” with it (smile). He could “really” play every instrument that he put his hands on…WELL (laughs). It was great for me to see a person do that and he was gracious enough to show me some techniques on different instruments. I was getting into multi-track recording at the time and I had to lay all of the tracks myself. Whew! During those days I didn’t have digital recorders to work with, so everything went to tape. It really helped my musicianship because I had to literally “perform” every part in its entirety. I continue to work like that now because I get a better feel for the music by actually “playing” the parts separately.”

TRL: Why was going to college and getting a degree in music important to you? RH: First of all, both of my parents are retired educators and going to college was always stressed to me, along with my siblings, as a way to position ourselves for a better life. I was so into music in high school that my mind was made up about having music as a major. I really wanted to learn everything that I could about music and possibly teach one day. My saxophone instructor in college, Dr. Laurence Hayes, played a major role in convincing me to soak up all of the knowledge that I could from him. Believe me, he had a wealth of knowledge and I was encouraged to go beyond my musical barriers. The music was so difficult that I would spend 4 to 6 hours a day working on various exercises. I once asked, “Why are you giving me such difficult pieces to learn?” I soon found out that he was planning to retire and I am now in his old office at Alabama State University. Talk about irony (smile). Attending college and getting a degree in music has been extremely beneficial to me. I owe a major debt of gratitude to all of my former teachers for the seeds that they’ve sown in me. May God bless them all!

TRL: You've performed numerous times as a solo act. How challenging is that? RH: That’s a great question! The solo act came about as the result of my maturing as a multi-instrumentalist and producer. I owe a lot of my decision to perform solo to Dr. George Shaw, a Long Beach, California based musician/producer/educator whom I met several years ago. He literally took me under his wing and instructed me on the “ins” and “outs” of studio recording. He’s a guru when it comes to studio gear and he’s an awesome trumpet player. Well, I had a performance coming up for a festival and was working so hard that I didn’t have time to pull a band together for rehearsals. I was about to cancel the engagement when Dr. Shaw says, “Do it yourself!” His statement changed everything for me and I began to perform with or without a band. I spent a great deal of time learning several tunes on a variety of instruments to enhance my “live” performances. Performing live with a band is wonderful and I enjoy that aspect tremendously. The challenge of performing “live” on a “track date” concert is that it requires a lot more energy. Since I’m performing the instrumental parts on the tracks, I always think about my energy level and which instrument(s) I will be playing “live” to keep things fresh and interesting. It’s truly a challenge, but I enjoy it!

TRL: Do you remember the first time you heard yourself on the radio? RH: Yes I do remember the first time I heard a selection that I’d recorded in the studio on the radio (laughs). Back in the day, I was always working on stuff (smile). A good friend of mine and music business mentor, Steve Myers, would always ask me… “Are you working on some material?” I would always say “yes” and he would tell me to get it to him as soon as I was done. After several months of asking the same question and getting the same answer from me, I reluctantly gave Steve a tape to check out over the weekend. I didn’t think it was ready, but he took it and returned it to me on the following Monday. He told me he liked it and I said “thanks, but I’ll finish it soon”. To my surprise, I was driving and listening to our campus radio station (WVAS FM 90.7) when I heard one of my selections on the radio. You see, Steve Myers was the station manager at the time and he’d copied the tape and put it on the air. I guess he was tired of “waiting on me” and decided I was ready (Laughs). As I think about it, I’m glad he did that. I would probably still be “getting ready” today (smile)! Thanks, Steve!

TRL: How did the interesting concept of the "Killing Me Softly" video on YouTube come about? RH: The “Killing Me Softly” track and video came about very quickly. The vocalist that I work with, Christina Mims, has always loved that song and wanted to perform it. I laid the instrumental tracks for her to rehearse with. She liked it and went on the computer to make sure she had all of the lyrics correct. We were not really intending to “record” the song at that time. It was really just a “fun” thing. She looked over the lyrics for a few minutes and said…”Hey, I want to lay some vocal tracks over what you’ve done.” She proceeded to lay the lead and the harmony tracks in one take each… top to bottom. Wow! As we were listening back to the performance Darrick Long (an ASU student) walked into my office and said… “I really like that and I have an idea.” Darrick takes his iPhone out of his pocket and says…”let’s make a video”! The footage on the iPhone was shot right then. As we listened to the lyrics of this great Charles Fox – Norman Gimbel composition, Darrick (along with his twin brother Eric) had a concept to convey a unique message through the video. The world recently commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March and State Senator Quinton Ross played the video for visiting dignitaries during their visit to Montgomery. The video was met with a rousing ovation of approval and we are all very proud to have been a part of it. We’ve received many positive emails and texts from around the world from those who have viewed the video on YouTube! Christina (a gifted vocalist) and Darrick (who also designed my website) are truly talented individuals and I love working with them. Thank you, TRL!

MC#Fade!! Rapper, Singer, Writer, Composer and Producer.... Now let's tell you his story. Since coming up with his first song at 3 years of age, which his mother wrote down for him at the time and he later edited, Albert "MC Fade" A-Yeboah has always demonstrated his skills and passion for music. MC Fade has always had the talent for performance and has further developed into an accomplished rapper, songwriter, composer, engineer and producer.

Albert “MC Fade” A-Yeboah has been involved in the Australian Music “street” scene since the late 90's. He was barely a teen, yet battling and doing the rap crew thing in an RnB group named DMU (Daddy Mac's United) with his role being the rapper of the group. DMU performed many live performances including the opening night for clubs such as "Diablos" Canberra City, Australia and "Club Habana" in Canberra, within Australia's prestigious location of Manuka. In 2003, MC Fade developed a passion for composing his own backing tracks, and then he coupled this then unknown ability with his great talent for music production. MC Fade later concreted these talents by building an engineering studio on the north side of Canberra, Australia, and he followed that with establishing a recording studio on the south side of Canberra in 2004.

In November 2004, PTE street released MC Fade's full length, self produced album The South Side Kid. The South Side Kid also featured hot known current Canberra talents, DJ Eldred “KOF” (his brother) and Franky “DJ Offtapia”, and went on to sell thousands copies on the streets of our sun burnt country, coast to coast, and thanks to some members of the Royal Australian Navy, islands in the South Pacific (undisclosed locations). The South Side Kid album was re-released commercially in 2010. Promoting the before mentioned album "The South Side Kid", MC Fade also appeared as the male presenter in PRIME Television's Race For Cash Challenge, as well as other features, like the award nominated short film GAMEOVER with Australian known radio presenter Chris from 104.7 Canberra FM and directed by well known Director Warren Coulton. In 2012 MC Fade guest appeared Aussie talents Danni-T, DJ Cuddlez and The Outlawz (US) formally known as Tupac & The Outlaws on his "New Order" album (LP) that was released in April 2013. His credits also include being a support act for rapper Chingy, the creation of the theme song and numerous backing tracks (for the current and previous seasons back until 2005) for the globally aired, and not to mention UK loved, television travel show EarthWalkers, finalist for Producer/Engineer of the year at the MusicACT's 2012 "MAMA" Awards, and in the 2013 MusicACT "MAMA" Awards he was Nominated for Producer/Engineer/Studio of the year and was a finalist in the category of Best Urban Artist of the Year. MC Fade's proposed first single off his "New Order" album landed a placement on GrindCity/Young Money's "Young Money Unsigned Hype Vol 4". MC Fade is " The Akademia Music Awards" December 2015 winner for BEST SONG Hip-Hop/R&B. MC Fade is now the CEO, Executive Producer and an Artist among other things, at Phat Track Entertainment (PTE), an independent Australian recording label, and Phat Track Entertainment Studios, which features some of the latest in digital multi-track recording equipment and acoustic technologies set in a phat sabbatical atmosphere. Constantly expanding all his talents and backed by the formidable PTE team, MC Fade continues to deliver a standard of music and production rarely witnessed in today's industry. ! http://mcfademusic.com/ https://www.facebook.com/mcfade.official/! https://twitter.com/mc_fade! https://www.youtube.com/user/theakma4! https://www.reverbnation.com/mcfade! https://soundcloud.com/mc<fade

Nick Elliott London, UK THREE WEEKS ONE SUMMER WITH THE MARMALADE In 2013, world renowned rock photographer, Nick Elliott, spent a busy Summer shooting the 60s hit makers, The Marmalade, for the band’s project Penultimate. Penultimate marked a new era for the band with the release of a CD, DVD, and vinyl record with promotional booklet featuring Nick’s images throughout. Now the collection of Nick’s stunning images have also been published as a limited edition fine art photographic book. Entitled Three Weeks One Summer, the book is a 132 page, high quality, hard-backed publication and features unseen, intimate images of The Marmalade shot over that period. Strictly limited to 250 copies worldwide and signed by Nick, amongst the images included in the pages of Three Weeks One Summer are the band backstage preparing for a show, onstage performing, enjoying some downtime on location, and also meeting and greeting their fans. The book is the third publication by the iconic rock photographer, who has worked in the music industry for over 20 years. His images have frequently been featured on album artwork as well as being published extensively across the media. The artists that Nick has photographed are at the top of their profession and in, addition to The Marmalade, includes artists such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Status Quo, Motorhead, Robert Plant and ZZ Top, to name a few amongst his archive.

Talking about the release of the Three Weeks One Summer, Nick said: “This is a true milestone in my career – to be able to create the images for the content of this book and produce it under my own publishing company, has made a very big, lifetime ambition come true. “Shooting the Penultimate project with such a great bunch of guys was just wonderful. It was a great period of

time to work on something so special plus…it was a big barrel of fun!” Nick first met leader singer in The Marmalade, Sandy Newman, in Nashville in 2010 when they were both working on independent projects in the city. Penultimate was the opportunity for them to work together after that initial meeting. Sandy commented: “Nick has brought a masterful imagery to Penultimate and delivered, down to the last detail, everything he described to the band on our first meeting to hear his ideas. “It is a pleasure, and indeed an honour, to be photographed by someone who can put you at ease. He instils a trust in you I have never come across before.” Known for his unique ability to capture the true essence of the artists’ live performance, Nick’s work is also in demand as fine art and has exhibited in galleries across the UK and Europe, and is currently in discussion to show his images in the USA. Album Reviews Nemesis De Catalyst- Still Standing Strong by Patrick Ross

Rating: ★

★★★★

Hailing from Hackney, London this son of immigrant parents from the islands of Jamaica and Montserrat has been performing since 1995. His music whose inspirations are rooted in gospel, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, pop, jazz, and eastern-influence is both mellifluously fluid and original in its organic composition. Nemesis De Catalyst is his iconoclastic non de plume alter-ego who describes his musical aim as “to share the messages of the kingdom and to enlighten others in the edifying of the saints.” The album is entitled “Still Standing Strong” which immediately captures and arrest his listening audience with an intro that comes off like a BBC news cast and immediately segues into the opening silo of musical cuts that both entertain and edify the listener with a most unusual gospel hip-hop oriented lyrical presentation. The music is decidedly Caribbean tinged by the hypnotic reggae - dancehall styled rhythms, blended with the subtlety seasoned hints of eastern-flavored pop, jazz, gospel and blues music which are obviously great influences on his musical taste. The album is a delightfully delicious buffet of spiritual messages and socially conscious commentary, as he leaves no topic or stone unturned. From start to finish this album is highly infectious and imminently repeatable. One can only imagine what a live performance by Nemesis De Catalyst would hold for a live audience with a live band. “Still Standing Strong” is definitely a must have album to be added to any musically eclectic collection.
