THE COMPANY David Hunter Koch, Writer/Director David Hunter Koch returns to The Rep after directing the popular hit, HULA HOOP SHA-BOOP, last season. He makes his home in Seattle, WA performing, producing and directing theater, video and film. He created the Cabaret de Paris, Seattle’s preeminent cabaret theater, where he produced and directed over 60 musical productions and was named Seattle’s Theatrical Entrepreneur of the Year. His other Milwaukee Rep directing credits also include KING OF COOL: NAT KING COLE – THE LIFE, THE MAN, JAZZ ROYALTY, CHAPS!, BLUE ROSE, ELLINGTON and LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR & GRILL. Jimi Ray Malary, Actor/Singer Jimi is very pleased and honored to be working again at the Stackner Cabaret. His previous engagements include: KING OF COOL: NAT KING COLE – THE LIFE, THE MAN, JAZZ ROYALTY and ELLINGTON: THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF THE DUKE. His wide repertoire takes him from the opera and concert stage, from the Broadway musical to the intimate setting of the cabaret theater. He has performed in theaters throughout the US and has performed in some of the leading opera houses of the world. Jimi hopes that at least one of the songs in ISN’T IT ROMANTIC . . . will touch your heart and make your step a little lighter in today’s complex world. William Knowles, Music Director/Pianist William Knowles is a graduate of Howard University and the University of Massachusetts. He was musical director and pianist for: ELLINGTON: THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF THE DUKE, LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR & GRILL, KING OF COOL: NAT KING COLE – THE LIFE, THE MAN, (Milwaukee Rep); AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’ (Gateway) and ALL NIGHT STRUT and COOKIN’ AT THE COOKERY, (Metro Stage). Knowles was a 2005 Helen Hayes nominee for his work on TAMBOURINES TO GLORY (True Colors). ISN’T IT ROMANTIC . . . CDs will be available at the bar September 17. Don Linke, Bass A professional musician for the last 30 years, Don has performed in the pit orchestras of Milwaukee Rep, The Skylight, Florentine Opera Company, shows at the Riverside Theatre and a myriad of club and private dates as both a guitarist and a bassist. He was head of the Jazz Guitar department at UWM in the Peck School of the Arts. Scott Napoli, Drums Scott Napoli is originally from Milwaukee, where he started his professional career at the age of 14. Scott is an imaginative drummer and composer who has been busy in and around New York and the East Coast. He has performed in almost every musical setting from jazz clubs, concerts, festivals, TV, orchestras and theater, including the Stackner Cabaret’s production of ELLINGTON: THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF THE DUKE. Kathi Karol Koenig, Stage Manager Kathi, a proud Equity Member, is thrilled to be back in the Stackner Cabaret with William, Jimi and this amazing band. This is her 7th season with The Rep. In Milwaukee she also works with First Stage, Renaissance Theaterworks and Next Act. Special thanks to Kristen, and love always to Pete.
