To raise awareness of Ultrathon at the start of British Summer Time, and position the brand as the number one choice of insect repellent for families.

Both the prize and interviews were incredibly well received by presenters and journalists. Stations including BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Radio Merseyside and BBC Radio Essex were keen to speak to Ray Mears because he was a relevant voice on the subject and is a well-respected and popular name. The prizes were in high demand and this resulted in coverage on Clyde 2, Magic 1152 (Manchester) and Wave 105.

THE EXECUTION Perfectly timed to coincide with the start of summer, the campaign was best suited to radio interviews and competitions. The addition of Ray Mears as a radio spokesperson made the story not only more credible but also attractive to BBC presenters and commercial journalists.

To discuss the issue of specialist care for elderly parents. To also promote Care UK as a leading care provider, experts in dementia and thought-leaders on the associated topics.

This was a prime example of a successful campaign: a relevant celebrity spokesperson talking on a topical and emotive story with research which was broken down regionally. In total, we secured six items of BBC coverage including BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Southern Counties. The online video was a resounding success, being covered on websites such as The Telegraph and Daily Express.

THE EXECUTION This was a very topical story, which affects a huge demographic. Using two spokespeople; Arlene Phillips, who had emotional ties to the campaign and a Care UK speaker, made it perfect for both radio interviews and a video news release.

THE RESULTS

To raise awareness of the study published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing regarding the inconsistency of drug administration and the potential implications. The campaign aimed to drive traffic to the Rosemont website.

A total of 10 BBC radio stations, including BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Stoke and BBC Radio Nottingham. This was not of exclusive interest to a BBC audience; nationwide commercial coverage was secured with highlights including LBC and Sunrise Radio. That’s not forgetting TV coverage on BBC Look East!

THE EXECUTION Having two professional doctors, one who is well known in the media and another who was heavily involved with the study, bolstered a story which was already of high public interest and made for a successful radio and TV campaign. The research and spokespeople made for a strong talking point across regional and national media.

THE RESULTS

To highlight the prevalence of headlice cases across regions in the UK, whilst also promoting the results of the yearlong campaign “Nitwatch”, and position the Vosene Kids range as market leaders in headlice prevention.

The story perfectly targeted commercial radio stations, resulting in coverage being secured on large stations such as Heart and Smooth (Scotland), Viking FM and Radio Aire. Due to how topical the story was, the interview was picked up by London Live and ITV News West Country.

THE EXECUTION With parents and carers throughout the UK thinking about the start of the new school year, the Nitwatch campaign was perfectly timed and so was very well received on radio and TV. As the champion of the campaign and being a Mum herself, Helen Maddin made for a perfect spokesperson across both mediums because she held credibility and had personal ties to the story.
