In Haliburton County, Northumberland County and the City of Kawartha Lakes, there are many ways to get a flu shot: • Speak to your doctor or health care provider to get flu vaccine. • Visit your local pharmacy to get a flu shot. Pharmacists can provide flu vaccine to anyone five years of age and older. • Book an appointment at special ‘family-friendly’ flu vaccine clinics being offered by the Health Unit for families with children under the age of five years. The clinic will be held in Lindsay on Wednesday, November 22 at the Health Unit office (108 Angeline St. S.)

Over the 10-day period in October, #GrieveNotAlone received more than 26,000 votes from supporters. The public vote to measure community support is one of the criteria to be used by Aviva to assess the funding proposals. Community Care’s Grief Support programs help people find their way through grief, while helping them live with renewed hope and happiness despite loss. The programs, offered through Community Care Hospice Services, are entirely unfunded. Support from fundraising and development initiatives is required to continue operating our programs at no cost to clients. The $87,000 proposal represents the annual cost for Community Care to present grief support.
