A Spectacular Christmas Destination This winter, Yorkshire’s stunning Georgian cloth hall - The Piece Hall in Halifax will be transformed into a spectacular Christmas destination like no other. For seven weeks the courtyard will be home to a stunning Christmas tree and a sparkling Nordic Tipi where you can enjoy food and drinks in the Après-themed surroundings. A Christmas Fair showcasing some of the region’s favourite independent craft stalls, artisan makers and pop-up food and drink traders will feature for a festive shopping weekend, while the surrounding shops, cafes, bars and restaurants will be open throughout the season to pick up that special gift and stop for a bite to eat along the way. 2

The season continues with our magnificent circus-style Spiegeltent, returning for a fantastic 24-day programme of family shows, live music, stand-up comedy and late-night cabaret. An array of creative Christmas workshops give you the chance to get crafty and learn a new skill, while outside street performers, brass bands and choirs bring the place to life with festive cheer. The season will come to a close with a grand finale on New Year’s Eve, when we bring in 2019 with an outdoor Courtyard Party for an evening to remember.

Enjoy a fun-filled day of festive entertainment around Halifax town centre, with carol singers, brass bands, community performances, kids’ activities and seasonal food and drink. Centrally located in the courtyard it will present a focal point and meeting place for visitors, with further work from the artist on display in the building. Accompanying the exhibition will be a programme of events and activities for all ages.
