KIND HEARTS: The staff and parents of toddlers attending JJ’s Educare in Azalia Street, Lentegeur, opened their hearts and donated food parcels and clothing to a family who lost all their possessions in a fire. The house in Commorant Street, Rocklands, burnt down in November. Pictured is Helen James (right), the principal at the educare, handing over the items to the home owner, Charmaine Idas. ROM humble beginnings, a family business has grown from strength to strength, with several stores across the Western Cape delivering top quality electronic equipment at affordable prices to the community. Soundtech was established 20 years ago by the Khan family from Mitchell’s Plain, starting out with a small kiosk in the Station Plaza in Mitchell’s Plain. The one-man operation was run daily by Fazielah Khan, with the shop stocking mostly radios and popular electrical accessories. Today, the shop has over 20 different branches all over Cape Town and the Cape Flats. Chatting to People’s Post, Ridwaan Khan, the regional manager for Soundtech, says the success is thanks to the shops’ loyal customers, especially the people of Mitchell’s Plain. “From the beginning, we at Soundtech aimed to get the popular products people wanted at the right price, giving them value for their money,” says Khan. He added that the business had made a name for being a one-stop shop, where clients could find all electronic products at one shop.

“We have grown with our customers as we are the biggest suppliers of computer and electronic equipment in the Western Cape. Our Vision is to always bring our customers the latest and best products available on the market,” he says. Soundtech aims to give their customers the best service and makes a personal effort to make sure that they receive the best. “Since we opened our doors 20 years ago, we have supplied many residents with their first computer. We found that customers love our stores because we offer excellent customer services and have a range which is not avaialble in larger multi-national stores. Our staff are well informed about the products, usage and other benefits, which is relayed to the customer. “This allows them to make an informed purchase and to get value for their money. The personal sales experience is what separates us from the rest,” says Khan. “Our vision now is to go where their customers are and that is online. Soundtech has launched a website, where customers can register as members and receive special membership privileges and discounts. Those online will be able to view the latest products.” Khan thanked customers for their continued support. Visit the website at www.soundtech.co.za.
