Bill Burr You’ve heard his voice on The Simpsons, Grand Theft Auto, and his Netflix series “F is for Family.” You’ve seen him on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Chappelle Show, and Breaking Bad. He’s Bill Burr, and his rage-fueled comedy isn’t going anywhere! He was most recently in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre as part of his current tour. The sold out show was worth every, single, penny. The biggest thing that stood out to me was the fact that he had two openers that didn’t last more than 20 minutes combined. So picture this; you’ve already mentally prepared yourself to see openers the first hour of the show (because that’s how it “normally” goes). Then, you see the first opener bid farewell after 10 minutes, then the second after another 10 minutes, and you start thinking, “Wait a minute, is he coming on now? So soon?” And before you know it, boom, Bill Burr took the stage. And once he took the stage, he didn’t leave it… For two solid hours. It really felt like I was given a special gift. Not only because of my view, but because it felt like he was recording one of his cable specials. He had so much energy and the crowd fed off of it the entire time. There are angry rants, and then there are angry, rage-fueled rants by Bill Burr. It tickles me that people still don’t know comedy show etiquette. The basic rules when you attend a comedy show. Those rules are there are no rules and if you attend one, you never sit in the front. I repeat, you never, ever, ever sit in the front. That night, a beautiful array of noobs and first-timers learned the hard way. I laughed far too hard at their expense, but the most important thing is, they learned their lesson. As he continues his rise in TV and film, he still makes time for his podcast and touring (thank goodness). If you ever get a chance to see him live, take it. You will be more than satisfied by the end of the night. Learn more about Bill Burr HERE -Jon J.
