State of the Program Speech Graphs Growth BY CAT SMITH Editorial Board

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, the 55th State Assembly began with the State of the Program from Youth Governor Glory McClure. McClure addressed the monumental accomplishments and challenges that the Youth In Government program has endured in its 55 years. Governor McClure emphasized the service activities and programs that YIG and the YMCA have planned and executed. These service projects include Valentines for Veterans and Healthy Kids’ Day, a YMCA event planned for April of this year. These service projects are sure to show a great face of Youth In

BillBook Notes YIG Improvements to The Page Note, and reporting, the Press BY ALEXIA M’BARK Assistant Editor

Changes have always helped improve programs; and in YIG, this is no exception. Some changes that have taken place this year can be found in the Bill Book, and have been influencing delegates throughout the program year. Among these include the requirement of having a lobbyist, the opening of submissions

the ability to apply for an alternate position to the Conference on National Affairs. It is now required that all legislative delegates who have their bill on the docket and wish to continue to the cabinet have a lobbyist to support them. Lobbyists are only taking clients until 9 a.m. this morning. For those interested in journalism and

Corps. is accepting open submissions for the program’s blog, The Page Note. Find out more information in the Press Corps. section of your Bill Book. Another change is the ability to apply for an alternate position to CONA. This application can be found on the sixth page in the yellow section. Good luck to all applicants!
