Just Another Day...
I spent this July 4th weekend relaxing on a vacation in New York City visiting my aunt of 93-year young and my former “compadre of cousins” of a long time ago. We used to play cowboy and indian fighting each other.
On that “famous day,” I was starting breakfast with my aunt when my cousin entered the residence with two boxes of Haitian patés: One had poultry meat and the other fish.
After serving us black coffee, he placed both boxes in front of my aunt and I. Calmy, he said, “I don’t know what your political position is, but I am sorry to announce to you that the President is dead.”
I fell into an instant state of shock. Did I hear right? The president is dead! Which president? Trump or Biden?
Forgive me, please. But not for a moment did I ever imagine it could be President Jovenel Moïse. The brain is rather slow at times when dealing with tumult.
