Nicole became fascinated with Southern African art: twice she exhibited Father Frantz Clouts, a South African/Belgian priest and artist, when South African art was a pariah. She was also instrumental in bringing Shona stone sculpture from Zimbabwe and her gallery maintained one of the most prominent collections of Shona sculpture in the U.S.
Nicole was able to develop her gallery to the point where it came to represent one of the finest collections of world renowned Haitian, African and African-American artists. She represented and nurtured many artists' careers including artists such as Franck Louissaint, Fravange Valcin (Valcin II) and Lyonel Laurenceau... The Nicole Gallery helped to launch the careers of artists such as Fritz Millevoix where she promoted his very colorful style OF paintings. She was able to curate many exhibits for Millevoix and in 2005; she featured his paintings at the Daley Civic Center in collaboration with Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs.
