The Manheim Township Educational Foundation has teamed with Power Forward Tutoring to provide expert SAT and ACT test prep services to the students of Manheim Township High School. Power Forward Tutoring is a full-service test prep and college counseling company with 20 years of professional experience in standardized test prep and college admissions.
CLARK STEEN Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Alvernia College in the fields of History and Political Science with concentration areas in Psychology and Education, and an Associates degree in English Communications. He also has a Master’s degree in American Studies from Penn State. Clark worked 2000 to 2010 as a college history professor, then retired to focus on Power Forward and preparing students for standardized tests. JEANNETTE BARNES Barnes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she minored in Environmental Science. Barnes also holds a Master’s degree in American Studies from Penn State. She worked in publishing and environmental science in New York and in the legal field in both New York and Pennsylvania until she began her tutoring career. Clark and Jeannie have both worked in admissions offices for East Coast colleges, as well as for the Princeton Review Company tutoring students and conducting classes before starting their own business. The SAT/ACT course will provide:
9 classes of instruction on both the SAT and ACT tests. 9 weeks of instruction leading up to the official test date. 3 full tests will be administered during the course to track the students’ progress. Classes will be taught by Clark Steen and Jeannie Barnes, the principals of Power Forward, who have developed easy and effective test prep techniques and who have a long history of proven success throughout the Central Pennsylvania region with students who want to maximize their collegiate opportunities. The course will include a college planning night open to students and parents and will take advantage of Clark Steen and Jennie Barnes’ experience as college admissions staff. (Optional— information can be received electronically). Course size will be limited.
