Bryan Mihu The season for fall sports has come to an end. These sports include varsity football, junior varsity football, varsity volleyball, junior varsity volleyball, varsity soccer, junior varsity soccer, tennis, and cross-country. The varsity football team played their last game of the regular season on November 6 against Southwestern Randolph with a score of 33-22. They ended the regular season with a record of 5-6. Senior Charlie Drake said, “The season went well, and if I could, I would play next year.” The team had a playoff game against Hickory Ridge on November 13 but lost 25-6. This year the junior varsity football team was named conference champions. The varsity soccer team played their last game in November. The team ended with a season record of 12-8. Sophomore Angel Arellano stated, “Next year the season will be even better because only four seniors are leaving.” The varsity volleyball team ended the season with a record of 2-20 but managed wins against Carver. Senior Magan Hinson said, “The season was fun, and the team worked very well together.” The junior varsity soccer team had an okay season with a record of 2-1 in the conference. Freshman player Paul Gendy replied, “The team h a d a lot of potential, and the season went fairly well.”
The junior varsity volleyball team ended their season in October. Ashlyn Tellechea, freshman, said, “The team did well and has a lot of room for improvement.” Also, cross-country ended at the end of October. The season went fairly well and hopes to grow next year. Freshman runner Cynthia Barnes mentioned, “The season started off hard for me, but as we went, it got easier and more fun.” In addition, the North Forsyth tennis team ﬁnished their last match in the fall. Senior Erica Munoz said, “I had a lot of fun playing tennis, and I thought the season went great.” The fall season of sports ended, but there are still winter sports to come.
