CREATIVE SERVICES • We offer internal creative services to our makers at an affordable price. A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER The Nooks was a dream I made a reality on my 26th birthday. I had been planning my entrepreneurial launch for 9 years before July 26th, 2015, the date I handed in my notice to leave my corporate career. I have always been creative in painting, designing, and talented in bringing objects, spaces, people and opportunities together to achieve something great. Attending post secondary school for Fine Arts and postgraduate studies for business, the next safe step was to find a ‘job’ to start practicing everything I had learned in school. It turned out that was not for me and I instantly felt unfulfilled landing my first professional role— coming home at night seeking more, and feeling the need to make a greater impact. I would sketch out new product features, better technology systems, merchandising schematics, stronger sales strategies; I’d sign up for all corporate functions, events that needed a volunteer or extra help— all for my corporate employer, all outside of my ‘job title’. I did this simply because I saw greater opportunity in addressing customers’ unmet needs and interests. Something had to change. In those self-searching moments of trying to find my WHY, I realized I would truly risk it all— the salary, the benefits, the comforts and the vacations— if it meant I could make a greater impact in this world. I already had the plan, and I knew I had something to give and to an industry that needed it most: the maker community and those who support it. Something had to change in how handmade was retailed, and I knew exactly how The Nooks would be that difference. I have a burning desire to support, guide and help people in discovering their full potential. My passion for the success of others, their products, their ideas, their dreams, goals, fuels me to constantly seek out new and better ways to connect with our community, do business, and change retail for all to succeed. I thrive on helping others get one step closer to living out their purpose and loving their life because of it! It is truly the heart and of why The Nooks exists – and the reason why we do things differently. We do not stay still, we do not follow the beaten tracks of retail, and we don’t just rent space. We are forging a new path through providing a smart retail system 5

NOOKSTART BUSINESS PROGRAM nookSTART is an artisan business program designed by The Nooks to support and accelerate the success of handmade, small businesses in retail. This program is fully integrated into The Nooks retail platform. The nookSTART program combines the necessary education, support and opportunities with a retail nook presence to showcase and sell. Makers receive a nookSTART course book, access to meet ups and additional resources to support their success. The nookSTART business program is offered to makers in two ways: 1. The program is built into our retail nook membership. Members who successfully complete the nookSTART course book have the opportunity to WIN their next 12 weeks for FREE. 2. Non-members can purchase the nookSTART business membership to receive a course book, and gain access to The nookSTART Facebook page to share business knowledge, expertise and participate in group coaching.


ONLINE MARKETPLACE The Nooks Online Marketplace is the FIRST multi-merchant platform with a revenue model giving 100% of product sales back to the small business in exchange for a renewable 12-week membership. This is not consignment or wholesale. There are no listings fees or transaction costs. This is curated eCommerce for Canadians to grow a successful retail business combining brick and mortar with online. Introducing… the Nooks+ Membership. OUR STORES + OUR COMMUNITIES TORONTO | 2001 DANFORTH AVENUE Nestled in the eccentric community hub of East York between Coxwell Avenue and Woodbine Avenue, this location is beloved by our locals and known as the gift store to shop in the ‘hood. This retail nook is a community anchor on the Danforth and something our customers are proud to show off and share. This location opened March 2016 and is home to 75+ makers and small businesses. The Nooks Toronto has hosted 3 nookFEST Music Festivals in the neighborhood and has become a destination for Torontonians and tourists to discover and shop!

PORT HOPE | 68 WALTON STREET In the most beautiful little town in Ontario, our Port Hope location is home to 65+ makers and small businesses local to the Durham/ Northumberland area and Toronto. The Nooks Port Hope opened in September 2018 in a temporary space and in January 2019 relocated a few doors down to the a gorgeous historic building once known as Watson’s Pharmacy. The Nooks Port Hope has been beautifully restored and renovated and is a community hub to shop and explore the talent of the Durham / Northumberland region.

KINGSTON | 208 PRINCESS STREET The Nooks Kingston opened in downtown Kingston on September 21st, 2019. In the prime, downtown core of the city, this retail nook has over 75+ makers and our second largest BACKROOM STUDIO space. With over 60 ft of store front, this retail nook cannot be missed. A hang out for our customers, and a shopping favorite to all who visit, the makers and small businesses at this location cultivate their clientele and are proud to send their customers to shop their nooks! This location fits in perfectly with the university student customer base and a destination for locals and tourists. 12

OUR STORES + OUR COMMUNITIES MUSKOKA | 908 BAY STREET, GRAVENHURST Opening for the Holiday season on November 15th 2019, this retail nook is cozy in the town of Gravenhurst and overlooks Lake Muskoka! This location is home to 18 makers and is fully licensed. YES – shopping and sipping is a thing! With retail anchors like Starbucks within our store, The Nooks Muskoka is a hang out for locals and the best gift shop in the area! The beauty of Lake Muskoka draws tourists from all over the world to experience local, handmade goods from our nookies!

OSHAWA CENTRE | 419 KING ST WEST This location is our Durham flagship. With 45 + makers, The Nooks OC purpose is to provide mall customers with the opportunity to shop handmade small businesses. This location provides even bigger opportunity for nookies to connect with 30,000 customers a week! The Nooks OC has handmade exclusivity in the mall and we’re growing our programs like nookFEST, nookSTART and our maker meets up to offer new kind of retail for small businesses to thrive!

OUR SERVICES DROP OFF PICK UP PASS Our Drop off + Pick up pass is designed to support you in the professional, efficient and safe delivery of your custom and online orders to your customers. The Drop off + Pick up Pass is based out of The Nooks Oshawa Centre and available to any handmade, small business seeking a center point of pick up that is open 8 + hours a day / 7 days a week ( including the majority of all holidays!) The Value: $50 pass = 40 points ( $1.25 a drop off / pick up!)

SHOWCASE NOOKS With 30,000 + people visiting the mall weekly - we provide opportunity for you to showcase your business and product to give your customers a real life experience prior to purchasing online. Customers can shop your products instantly in store via your website on their phone or in store ipads . Customers can also select The Nooks Oshawa Centre as their desired pick up location. We offer 2 showcase memberships pending on your business needs!

POP UP PASS The Nooks POP UP Pass is designed to support your business in creating consistency and visibility to showcase and sell directly to customers who want to buy your products!. We want you to thrive in retail and planning your POP UP events in advance supports the necessary promotion and time needed to succeed! Our POP UP pass is offered at The Nooks Oshawa Centre. We are accepting dates up to December 31st 2020.
