Bellanona Grande Estates

he Bellanona Grande Estates neighborhood has grown quite a bit since Deven and Shara Pathak moved in back in 2011. The couple discovered Bellanona while looking for homes in a different area. They had viewed another home off Kirby Smith Road and noticed something that drew their eye. “We like the fact that it was an up-and-coming area with custom homes and one acre lots,” says Deven.

It also happened to be close to the new building they were purchasing for their business. The easy commute to work and the ability to avoid the constant construction changes on local highways continues to be a plus according to the Pathaks. Deven and Shara run Price Chopper (www.pchopper.com) selling wristbands for a variety of purposes. Their products are used for admission, ticketing, access control, age identification, group membership and even fund raising. They also work in the healthcare industry providing patient identification wristbands. Shara’s family was involved in the printing business in her home country of Trinidad and they spun off the wristband part of the business close to 20 years ago. Since then, the business has taken off. They have clients throughout the United States and have distributors around the world, which led to the need for a larger office space. Their business also provides them the opportunity to give back to the community. The Pathaks donate wristbands and other items to charity groups and others looking to raise awareness for various causes. It has allowed them to work with groups like the Ronald McDonald House, Florida Hospital, United Way and Nathaniel’s Hope. They also donate to churches and families dealing with terminal illnesses. The couple says that they love when their business allows them to impact the local community. Shara says that her mother’s generosity helps them look out for local causes. The Pathaks consider themselves lucky to have found the Bellanona area, and not only because of the commute. The pair loves the tight-knit feel of the community. They say that the limited number of lots in the neighborhood make it feel like it is one big family. They have developed many close relationships with other families in the neighborhood as well. The larger sized lots also offer the chance for everyone to enjoy their own space. They enjoy the laid-back feel of the area while still having everything at their fingertips.

The local options for eating and shopping are a big plus for the Pathaks. When they first moved to the area, the options weren’t as diverse as they are now. The couple especially enjoys the restaurants in nearby Laureate Park. The open arrangement and great restaurants like Chroma and Bosphorous allows them to enjoy a meal while their two sons, Anish and Nirav, can play and interact with other children. When it comes to a favorite for the kids, Nona Blue still takes the cake. If they’re not enjoying the local restaurants, the Pathaks can be found hanging out by their pool, barbecuing jerk chicken or enjoying the lake in the back of their neighborhood. While the area is rapidly growing, the Pathaks feel like the growth has been managed exceptionally. They have seen what happens in other areas when quick growth leads to overcrowding and traffic issues. They feel that the area has still kept the quiet feel while the surrounding area has continued to flourish. The area offers many activities for their children as well. Both Anish and Nirav are avid golfers. They are members of the First Tee of Central Florida and enjoy lessons at the nearby Eagle Creek golf course. It is important to Deven and Shara that their sons are involved in activities that are located near their home. Their sons both attend Lake Highland Prep which requires a bit of a commute. Luckily, since all of their after school hobbies are so close to their home, they don’t have to deal with multiple long commutes every day. The Pathaks say that they love Bellanona for many reasons, they feel fortunate for the experiences and the relationships this budding community has helped create.

Our favorite part about living in our neighborhood is our wonderful neighbors. We have a very tight knit neighborhood, and everyone looks out for one another. When we moved here, our family was welcomed with open arms and we have made lifelong friendships with many of our neighbors. We also love the fact that all the houses have great sized yards for the kids to run and play. What is your occupation? Rodney : Orlando District Manager in Hospitality for Towne Park. Jennifer: Health Educator and Owner of Raw Whole Foods Juicing located in the Winter Garden and Orlando Farmers Market. How did you land in Orlando? Rodney: My mother and sister lived in Orlando. I was visiting from Los Angeles and met Jennifer through my sister on one of my visits. We had a long-distance relationship for a year until Jennifer moved with me to California. We decided to move to Orlando a few years later due to the better cost of living. Jennifer: My family was tired of the cold Ohio weather and wanted more sunshine, so we relocated in 1999. Favorite Local Hangout? Nona Blue. We try to get our friends together frequently for dinner. It is close to home and we really enjoy the food and laid-back atmosphere. Favorite family activities? We love being outdoors and staying active with our kids. In the summer, we like to hang at the beach, and try to go canoeing often. We love to spend time with our friends and their kids whenever possible. Springs, lakes or oceans? We find ourselves at the ocean/the beach the most. Our favorite destination to visit in Florida is Boca Grande Only in Central Florida moment? Going to the beach on Christmas and calling your family and friends up north to brag about the great weather

What are you most proud of? Jennifer: I am most proud of my children and my family. And my business. Rodney: I am most proud of my family. We have the two most beautiful and awesome kids you could hope for. With all of it’s growth, what are you most excited about coming to Central Florida? Jennifer: I am excited about the healthy lifestyle initiatives that are gaining popularity, especially in Lake Nona. Being in the nutrition and wellness field, I am grateful to be living in the wellness capital of Central Florida. Rodney: My son and I are excited to have a local pro football team! We love watching football together and are excited to have a local team to root for Dog person, cat person, or other? Dogs, hands down. We have a Yorkshire terrier named Sophie and are looking forward to growing our doggy family in the future. n
