The youth of Nepal have endured much in the past twenty years; a civil war, much civil unrest, the failure of the government to promulgate a new constitution, the parliament dissolved, lack of jobs and no clear path to the future. This photo album is created for them with respect for their perseverance in the face of overwhelming tribulations. This year The Mountain Fund launched the Nepal Youth Network, a web platform for sharing ideas and the talent of Nepal’s youth. Visit it at www.nepalyouthnetwork.com.
“Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die. 1
The deepest definition of youth is life as yet untouched by tragedy. 8
“The Youth of a Nation are the trustees of posterity.” 16
"There is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with children. There is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respected, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free from fear and want and that they grow up in peace." 28
"What a child doesn't receive he can seldom later give." 36
Pray er for Nepal Perhaps the only hope youth can cling to at this moment in the history of Nepal is their faith that a better will come.
