gious awards for community service. There are many organizations around campus that take part in community service projects and raising money for organizations to help others. Class I organizations are required to complete community service hours. The Bonner Leadership is an Americorps program that encourages student involvement in the community.

They do projects such as being involved in afterschool programs and doing a large amount of work for the Sandy relief effort. After its opening several months ago, the Greenleaf Compassion Center in downtown Montclair has been blossoming with customers. The Compassion Center is the only medical marijuana dispensary in all of New Jersey. Due to its high demand of customers, the Compassion Center has recently announced that they will only be accepting customers from seven counties in northern New Jersey, much to the dismay of the rest of the state. The Greenleaf Compassion Center had many more patients than they originally anticipated, causing their supply of the marijuana to be depleted. Maria Roman Contributing Writer On March 20, Montclair State University’s School of Communication and Media proudly announced its alliance that will bring six of the state’s top media organizations to its campus, according to director Merrill Brown. The six media organizations include the New Jersey sites of AOL’s Patch, NJ
Spotlight, NJ.com, North Jersey Media Group, Reuters and WBGO Public Radio. The School of Communication and Media is planning to build a new facility which will include the Dumont Television Center. “It will be comprised of 89,000 square feet which includes 60,000 square feet of new construction,” said Brown.
