Congratulations to the Dawson Creek Secondary School Graduating Class of 2019 Congratulations on meeting the challenges and expectations of high school and arriving at this point in your lives. Some of you will be moving on to college or university and some are taking a year off to work. Some of you have plans to travel the world while others aim to join the workforce full time and start a career. Wherever your path takes you over the next few years you will look back on your high school graduation as the starting point for your journey ahead. Take time to enjoy your lives and celebrate your accomplishments because time goes by very fast. Lastly, take time for yourselves to learn, grow, reflect, recharge and appreciate the experiences and people in your lives. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and hope that whichever path you choose will lead you to what you are looking for.

Chetwynd Secondary School Dawson Creek Mirror

On behalf of the staff and students of Chetwynd Secondary we would like to congratulate the Graduating class of 2019! You have come to the end your grade 12 year a significant milestone, another way of looking at that is the end of 13 years in school which works out to be roughly 2353 days, or 14118 hours. We hope that throughout all that time you were able to see that there are many adults in your life who care about you and your future. Now we all have come together to celebrate your hard work, sacrifice, good times, and bad, all of which have lead you to this moment, which we hope is just the beginning of many more big moments. Just a five short years ago you were in the Library of CSS listening to information on school policies before you went on your first official tour of your new school, time flies doesn’t it! When you were sitting there I wonder how many of you knew what this day (Graduation) was going to look and feel like? How many of you knew that you would be heading out of Chetwynd for new opportunities? Did any of you know that you would be sitting right there with a trade and career already in place? I am willing to bet most of you would answer “no” to some or all of those questions. I know this to be true as I do not think I could count the number of conversations I have had with students in this class where they have altered their visions and plans for the future. This in fact is an important life lesson, no matter how well you have planned you never know when a new opportunity will come your way and change what you thought was a certainty.

Congratulations MCS Graduates!

Kaylee, Ivan, Stuart, Janelle, Brody, and Tristen- well done! It’s time to toss your caps position your tassels! What a great day! On behalf of the Board and MCS Staff, Congratulations!! Graduating class of 2019, as you face life’s celebrations and challenges, remember to hold on to your value system, your work ethic, and most importantly, your faith. It is these qualities that will guide you along on your journey. Remember Proverbs 19: 20-21: Listen to the advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. I am honored to have served as your Principal; you are indeed a fantastic Graduating class and have left our school with memories that will cherish forever. From the self-organized field

trips, movie of the day quotes, and out-of-the-ordinary poetry submissions, this class will be hard to beat! You will be missed. I encourage you today to be a life-long learner, work hard, persevere, and never let go of the God that loves you so. Today, I dedicate the following poem to celebrate the MCS 2019 Graduating class.

Always Be A Student By Joanna Fuchs

Keep on learning, Kaylee, Ivan, Stuart, Janelle, Brody, and Tristen, Though your graduation’s done; Your whole life’s an education That has only just begun. Your diploma is the first big step, For knowledge, is the special key To winning what you want in life And being who you want to be.

Stuart Burrell

Tristen Torsti

If you’ll always be a student, You’ll find the secrets to success And travel on the golden road To peace and happiness. Your life is a notable occasion- and I am confident that you will rise to it!
