And Jesus Built The Church n the new testament there is a church that was built and this church is still flourishing and thriving. This church was built so remarkable, its outlasted the great Roman empire, raging persecution, tremendous acts of nature and time itself. This church is the Apostolic church. This is the very church that whipping, beating, boiling and crucifying could never collapse...A church built upon a rock that hell could not overcome, a church built by Jesus Christ. This magnificent church all started over two thousand years ago...sparked by the very revelation of knowing who God is...And here’s where it started! Here Jesus speaks to his disciples in (Matt 16:1519)...He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church ; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind
on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Wow Jesus asked them, who do you say that I' am? And Simon Barjona answers in faith...Thou art the Christ! In return Jesus surnames Simon this very name-Peter! The word Peter actually is translated from the original Greek word Petros (NT:4074) which means a rock! So Peter and his revalation of who Christ is, is literally the rock or foundation that Jesus built the church upon. Jesus goes on to say, the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Now a lot of unlearned people think that Peter is going to stand at the pearly gates admitting people in, I must say they are ridiculously and tragically mistaken! The keys to the kingdom are something we need this very day! The keys are something so vital that if we don't obtain them before we die...We’ll be lost forever! You may think what a mystery, although the keys to the kingdom of heaven are the very thing God wants revealed to us! The keys to the kingdom are the very words Peter spoke on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:38! Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Basically if you have not repented and you are not born again, of water and spirit you cannot see or enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3, 3:5) Peter was a man that Satan tried to sift like wheat (Luke 22:31-32) and he stood up on the day of Pentecost and delivered to all people the very keys to being alive and in existence in the kingdom of God! How to be born again! You can not live brand new if you do not die to your old ways in repentance. You can not be Holy or work in the kingdom of God in the flesh without being driven by the Holy Spirit, and you can not have the blood of Jesus upon you washing away your sins if you have not been baptized in Jesus name. This is the very beginning of living for God, the keys to being born unto Gods kingdom and it was built on a rock, a rock that overcame...and that rock was Peter. by: Jonathan Koger
LOVE IS‌. A group of professionals posed the question "What does love mean?" to a group of 4 - 8 yearolds and the answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think: Love is that first feeling you feel before all the bad stuff gets in the way." "When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." "When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth." "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." "Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your french fries without making them give you any of theirs." "Love is when someone hurts you. And you get so mad but you don't yell at them because you know it would hurt their feelings." "Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." "Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." "Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss." "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." "When you tell someone something bad about yourself and you're scared they won't love you anymore. But then you get surprised because not only do they still love you, they love you even more." "Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." "Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." "During my piano recital, I was on a stage and scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." "My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." "Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken." "Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." "Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." "I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." "I let my big sister pick on me because my Mom says she only picks on me because she loves me. So I pick on my baby sister because I love her." "Love cards like Valentine's cards say stuff on them that we'd like to say ourselves, but we wouldn't be caught dead saying." "When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." "You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Submitted by: Erica Koger
WHAT WOULD YOU DO? What would you do?....you make the choice. Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice? At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?" The audience was stilled by the query. The father continued. "I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child." Then he told the following story: Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?" I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps. I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning." Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball. However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO? The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game. Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!" Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled. Everyone yelled, "Run to second, run to second!" Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball . the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the thirdbaseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home. All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay" Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third! Shay, run to third!" As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, "Shay, run home! Run home!" Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team "That day", said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world". Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day! Submitted by: Amy Rushing
WOULD YOU RUN? One Sunday morning during service, a 2,000 member congregation was surprise to see two man enter...Both covered from head to toe in black and carrying submachine guns. One of the men pro-
claimed; any one willing to take a bullet for Christ remain where you are" immediately the Praise team fled, the choir fled, the deacons fled, almost every one fled; out of 2,000 only 20 remained. The man who
had spoken took off his hood, he then looked at the preacher and said, okay pastor I got rid of all the hypocrites, now you may begin your service, have a nice day!" Submitted by: Amy Rushing
As I approach unto this newness this place preserved for me, I see your plan unfolding as I rest beneath this tree. I hear the cries of prophesy blowing within these winds, as these leaves of fallen beauty unveil the trees old limbs. Swirling now before me, as I lay me down to rest, I watch the swirling leaves gathering themselves in sets. Swirling winds of prophesy what fills my ears this day! Isaiah's voice is trembling "Hear what the Lord doth say." Then with his old-aged finger, He carefully draws a line proclaiming of Gods mysteries, of another time. Men of old in ancient times spoke out the Lords commands, then held the Lord a time preserved, a place for me to stand. Another branch is shaking, within these winds of time and as the leaves fall off the trees I see a different vine. I ponder of its frailty exposed for all to see, shaking in these winds today a voice of prophesy. "Make straight His way" The Baptist cried "Prepare the way of the Lord', repent or perish." fell the word God a mighty sword! Now see him plunge the Jordan, this one sent from above. God's voice confirmed the Heavens descending like a dove. "Behold the Lamb who takes away the sins of every man" Could it really be messiah, this One, the great I AM? Something new I see has sprouted with new birth; it came from Heavens pollen and planted in the earth. This living word of God, has come to save the lost He came to prove the love He was no matter what the cost. What was "Thy kingdom come" none spoke of this before? Oh how their souls did burn, as He knocked upon their door. Watch him choose twelve people and speak of a new place, & while listening to His word He speaks, they gaze into Gods face! They watched this hand from the Heavens break bread for them to eat, and then humbly reached He down to wash all of their feet. Then spoke he of his death and of a soon betrayal, they wondered "Is it I? "Oh how their hearts did fail. At last did come the hour our Savior went to pray, with sweaty drops of blood He fell down on his face. Swirling winds of prophesy why must this story be? If any one had faith that day, surely it was He. But as he reached his hand that day, towards the tree of life, there came a flaming sword that swung from every side. "Let this cup pass from me." Prayed God's only son. "Never the less not my will, but let thy will be done." Garden of Gethsemane extends a cup to Him, and then brings it to His lips, our iniquity and sins. Garden of Gethsemane, gave drink to Gods own Son. Within the winds of prophesy a cup reserved for one! Submitted by: Anthony Madrid
