GOOD NEWS Arun's beaches have Got Blue Flags above Them. The new Chairman of the authority, Don Ayling has raised Blue Flags at Littlehampton and Bognor Regis to celebrate the fact they pass stringent quality assessments. Judges from Encams were impresed with its standards of cleanliness and facilties. Cllr Ayling said. "Arun draws thousands of holidaymakers and visitors each year thanks to its unrivalled coastal setting. We are delighted to be celebrating this great achievement." The Blue Flag award recognises clean, well-managed beaches which have to pass strict criteria on beach management, like provision of first aid, clean toilets, no dog fouling, access and facilities for disabled visitors and water quality being sampled regularly throughout the summer Season.

As an extra celebration, a flypast is being arranged on June 13th to coincide with the Bognor Regis Town Carnival and the Littlehampton Regatta. Source: Spirit Fm & Arun District Council
