Runners: Got an injury that you can’t shift but don’t want to rest up completely? Keep your aerobic fitness by training as specifically as possible without pain. Can you run slowly? Great run slowly and get your injury checked by physiotherapist or sports massage practitioner. Can‘t run at all? Walk quickly, walk slowly, pool run, cycle and lastly swim.

rOYSTON fIREFIGHTER sTEVE gREAVES hANGS UP HIS RUGBY BOOTS Having started his rugby career at Royston Rugby Club, Steve Greaves caught the eye of Saracens in 1992 before representing his county and country in a career spanning 30 years. He played for Hertfordshire County before joining the Army in 1995 for whom he represented for five years. However, it was through the Royston Fire Service that he went on to play for his country, taking home four international fire service

caps for England fire and four for Great Britain. It was also through the fire service that he came to play in five charity ‘Senior Internationals’ for England. The matches have raised over £1 million pounds for charity and regularly draw crowds of over 6000 spectators. He played his final game for England Legends this past February against Ireland Legends at Twickenham Stoop stadium. What a career!
