THE LISBON MBA AND FUDAN MBA BEGIN NEW INITIATIVE FOR 2011 The Lisbon MBA will be partnering with Fudan University in Shanghai to create a PortugalChina Lab which will be included in The Lisbon MBA International Program as an alternative to the summer internship. Beginning in 2011, the Portugal-China Lab will offer students access to a global experience that involves approaching an actual business problem in mixed teams of MBA students from The Lisbon MBA and Fudan, additionally generating value for the sponsoring company. Both Fudan University’s MBA program and The Lisbon MBA will each select a professor (based on interest and expertise in the chosen project and industry) to supervise the project and help guide the students. The Lab will run for seven to eight weeks over the course of the summer, with teams working in China for the first two weeks, three to four weeks of virtual work, and coming together in Portugal for the final two weeks to present their findings to the sponsoring company. This initiative will reinforce the program´s focus on the international market. An international perspective on people and business is a hallmark of The Lisbon MBA and students are constantly exposed to cross-cultural management techniques. The Lisbon MBA is committed to offer international opportunities to our students and prepare them to better understand the dynamics of a globalized world. China is already the second largest economy in the world and growing, so it is of vital importance that universities adapt to this global market and create synergies with different countries. We are truly excited about this partnership with Fudan University and look forward to seeing the implementation of the students’ solutions in real-world situations.
