I have been at the Wheelwrights Arms since 2006 - 7 years.

I have been in the hospitality industry for the last 20 years - mainly in bars.

What achievements are you most proud of?

Turning the Wheelwrights Arms into the place that it is today. A lot of money and time was spent as it was a very run down grotty pub that had not been touched for 10 years.

The Wheelwrights Arms was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Tripadvisor in 2012 and is in the Michelin Guide for Pubs & Inns.

What is the best piece of career advice you have been given?

Hire nice sta - very important.

What do you love most about your job?

The sta - they make it fun.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

I would split between England and a hot country. I would be happy living in Kenya for 6 months of the year.

Name one thing not many people know about you I lived in Nairobi, Africa for 8 years. In 1975 I also drove from England to South Africa - very interesting.

If you could be anybody else for a week, who would you be?

Andy Murray - definitely.

Who or what is your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate - any kind!

Have any hidden talents?

No I don’t think so.

What is the funniest thing you have heard/experienced since being at Wheelwright Arms?

One of our guests was convinced that they saw a ghost in Room 4!
