UPDATE FROM
Jim Howell, Director of Agronomy
Dear Members,
I hope you are all enjoying the golf course this year. Our Agronomy staff has faced significant challenges with making necessary repairs to the collars, tees, approaches, and fairways, involving stripping areas and replacing them with sod. I am extremely proud of our talented team for handling this project while maintaining the course’s condition through the extreme heat.
As we continue the growth process, establishing a healthy root system and turf coverage, we plan to raise the heights on all warm-season grasses by the end of fall to protect the turf during the winter months. Additional steps, including amendments and fungicide applications, are being taken to safeguard the plants. Winter desiccation affected several golf courses in North Alabama and Tennessee, and we are hopeful we won’t have to go through this process again.
I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through these improvements. We look forward to an even better season next year.
Regards,
Jim Howell Director of Agronomy
UPDATE FROM
Rob Clark, Director of Golf/General Manager
As fall approaches, I’m excited about our plans and progress this year. Despite some challenges, our team is united and ready to finish strong.
The golf course renovations are complete, and we’re hoping for good weather to help the new sod establish. Kudos to our Agronomy team for their exceptional work as they have installed nearly 20 truckloads of sod while maintaining superb playing conditions.
Our Culinary Staff has risen to the challenge with remarkable creativity and enthusiasm. We are hopeful that the Executive Chef position will be filled soon. It has been a unique experience for me, a golf professional by training, to navigate the hiring process for such a crucial role at our club. I am confident that our thorough process will lead us to the best candidate for our club.
With the pool season winding down, I want to extend my appreciation to Pam, Madi, and their team for all of their hard work. We’ve made significant progress this year and are already looking forward to making next season even better.
Golf remains strong under Jordan’s leadership. His team has achieved impressive results, and it’s not too late to get involved. Contact the golf shop if you’re interested.
Our Golf Membership is full with a wait-list, reflecting the positive direction we’re heading. We’re committed to continuous improvement and believe our best days are ahead. It’s gratifying to hear positive feedback from members of other clubs. We aim to provide the best experience for those who are with us.
Regards,
Rob Clark Director of Golf/General Manager

UPDATE FROM
Jordan DeBonis, Head Golf Professional
This golf season has been nothing short of remarkable. We’ve experienced a record amount of play, thanks in large part to the dedication and hard work of our agronomy staff. Their efforts in overcoming last year’s severe winter challenges have restored our course to its pristine playing conditions.
We have several exciting events lined up for the remainder of the season. Spaces are limited. So, we encourage you to sign up promptly to secure your spot before they fill up!
Our clinics for ladies and junior golfers have been a resounding success, fostering skill development and camaraderie. It’s been inspiring to see significant improvements in everyone’s game and to witness new friendships forming, making each round of golf even more enjoyable.
In addition to these successes, our merchandise offerings have thrived, especially with our new line from Greyson. Holderness and Bourne, our hottest-selling line, stands out for its commitment to quality and precision. We invite you to stay connected through our social media channels and Golf Genius online shop, where we regularly introduce new products.
Just a friendly reminder of our guest play policy: Members can bring up to three guests Tuesday - Thursday. Members can bring guests after 1:30 PM on Fridays. Saturdays, members can bring guests after 12:00 p.m. There is no guest play on Sundays. We hope to see you on the course this fall, enjoying the best weather conditions.
