The Junction Comedy & Spoken Word Oct – Dec 11

Justin Moorhouse Sun 02 Oct / 8pm / J2 / £15 Manchester stand-up legend Justin Moorhouse is off on tour with his acclaimed stand up show. Justin has come along way since winning the ‘City Life Comedian of the Year' in 2000, having starred in Ken Loach’s film Looking for Eric, hosted his own daily afternoon radio show on Sony Award winning Key 103, starred as Young Kenny in the hugely successful, award-winning Phoenix Nights and he recently performed on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. Don’t miss this stand-up romp from one of Britain's best comedians. Watching Justin live is a joy to behold, his comedy only coming second to his modesty. Justin didn't write this. He got someone else to do it, but he agrees. Strictly 16+

Frisky & Mannish: Pop Centre Plus Mon 03 Oct / 8pm / J2 / ÂŁ14 (ÂŁ12 con) Everyone wants a career in pop, and if The Saturdays can do it, then, by God, so can you. After rigorous education at the School of Pop (sell-out smash 2009), and intellectual training during The College Years (again, sell-out smash 2010), it's time to move out of your parents' house and get a f**king job. Everything you need is at F&M's Pop Centre Plus. Meticulous analysis of your skills and strengths will reveal your optimum career-path. Are you a Bieber? Maybe more Cher? Or just The Wanted? If you don't sign on, YOU WILL NEVER KNOW.

Daniel Sloss: The Joker Fri 14 Oct / 8pm / J2 / £13.50 (£10 con) Scotland’s half-man-half-Xbox, hormone-ridden comic prodigy is currently one of the fastest rising stars of UK comedy. He started doing stand-up aged 16 and appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow; 8/10 Cats, Jason Manford Comedy Rocks, Rob Brydon Show, Comic Relief’s Mock the Week, Paul O’Grady Show as well as starring in his own BBC show The Adventures of Daniel and selling out three Fringe seasons in 2008-2010 - all before he started to shave. Support from Kai Humphries

Russell Kane: Manscaping Fri 21 Oct / 8pm / J2 / £17.50 After a sell out run at the Edinburgh festival, this year the 2010 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Russell Kane presents Manscaping. Manscaping sees Kane mercilessly explore the ridiculous state of masculinity in the modern world. The term Manscaping itself is Russell's examination of the possible 12 shapes that manhood takes over the years. He shaves his chest fur; you watch and laugh. Manscaping follows his dual wins of both the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Barry Award in 2010, the two most prestigious prizes in comedy, with his stand-up show Smokescreens & Castles.

Puppetry of the Penis – 3D Thu 27 Oct / 8pm / J2 / £16.50 The astonishing and unforgettable ancient Australian art of genital origami Puppetry of the Penis is back, and this time in 3D. In 2006 and 2007 Puppetry of the Penis broke all box office records worldwide. The show has been upgraded, utilising the latest 3D projection technology. The audience will be given 3D glasses to wear, experiencing this head shakingly shocking, outrageously funny production as it’s never been seen before. Puppetry of the Penis is a mind-blowing show featuring two strapping Australians who manipulate their genitals into various shapes, objects and landmarks. A video camera projects intimate details of these incredible phenomena onto a large screen ensuring that little can be missed, and this time in 3D, even in the cheap seats! *Please note - this show features full frontal male nudity. Strictly 16+

Steve Hall’s Very Still Life Fri 28 Oct / 8pm / J2 / £12 A show about achieving things. If I can be bothered to write it. We Are Klang man and Russell Howard’s tour support; Adecco Alfred Marks, Borehamwood Branch, June 1997 ‘Temp of the Month’ Nominee. "Deadpan brilliance" Time Out

Gyles Brandreth: The One To One Show Sun 30 Oct / 8pm / J2 / ÂŁ16 They say all political careers end in tears. In Gyles Brandreth's case it's tears of laughter as the actor, author, One Show reporter, former MP and government whip turns stand-up. This is Brandreth unleashed on the stars he's known (one-to-one) and the wicked ways of Westminster (no expenses spared). Without hesitation or repetition (and just a touch of deviation), Just a Minute regular Gyles delivers a dazzling evening of wit, wordplay and hilarious name-dropping.

Jimeoin: Lovely! Fri 11 Nov / 8pm / J2 / £14 (£12 con) Stunning world-class stand-up comedy from star of TV’s Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks, Just For Laughs and Best of Edinburgh Comedy Festival. No gimmicks, just pure-and-simple great craic. “Brilliant… It gets no better than this... Hilarious!” Time Out

Tommy Tiernan: Poot Sat 12 Nov / 8pm / J2 / £17 Tommy Tiernan is a legend in his home country of Ireland and that reputation is fast gathering momentum here in the UK following on from last years UK tour (Crooked Man) and several high-profile TV and radio appearances, including Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. Tommy's mastery of stand-up allows him to take risks other comedians dare not. Through hilarious story telling and a high energy, non- apologetic delivery he continually challenges his audience who can be confident they are in safe hands. To see Tiernan live is a rare treat, as his stories unfold and themes are elaborated his performance mesmerises as his lyrical way with words make you laugh harder than you’d ever believe possible. Strictly 18+

Chris Cox: Fatal Distraction Fri 18 Nov / 8pm / J2 / £12 (£10 con) That skinny mind-reader who can't read minds has won awards, been on TV, got a load of 5 star reviews and sold out shows around the world and his somehow still getting away with it. Using a mongrel mix of techniques including magic, psychology and lying Chris Cox will amaze and astound as does things no human should be able to do, controls coincidence, amazes and astounds. It will be weird and wonderful, Chris'll be wonderful. You just turn up. “Brilliant, he’ll blow your mind” Ricky Gervais.

Jason Byrne: Cirque Du Byrne Fri 25 Nov / 8pm / J2 / £15 Roll up, roll up as Edinburgh’s top selling comedian Jason Byrne takes to the road to hotwire your comedy funny bones with his brand new show, Cirque du Byrne! Brought to you by the ringmaster of tom-foolery himself, this promises to be an anarchy packed show of acrobatic proportions. Encounter deviously constructed comic spectacle, be tamed by on-stage farce and audience interaction, and gasp in awe at daring comic stunts as the definitive clown of comedy pushes his riotous show to the edge. Strictly 16+

John Harris: Hail! Hail! Rock ‘n’ Roll Thu 01 Dec / 8pm / J2 / £10 Hail! Hail! Rock’n’Roll is a two-sided tribute to five decades of music, and all the lunacy and magic they have spawned. To start, John Harris dispenses a quickfire rock foundation course. He celebrates the greatest records ever made, and then damns the worst (this part features Brian May, the Stereophonics, and U2). Then we reach the main event: the Hail! Hail! Rock’n’Roll Quiz, an 8-round interactive spectacular with full audio and video support (and prizes, obviously) that offers an altogether more entertaining kind of quizology than the average Monday night down the pub – and a mixture of challenges for both rock’n’roll rookies and hardbitten fans.
