Songket Palembang South Sumatra

A traditional handwoven fabric from Palembang, South Sumatera. Palembang people use songket generally as a custom clothing to attend the wedding ceremony, or other ceremony. This all indicates that songket cannot be used carelessly, because in it contains specific meanings. In the past, the use of songket distinguished between for the royal family, royal officials, nobles and commoners class.

Tenun Buna East Nusa Tenggara

Tenun Buna is a traditional hand-woven fabric from East Nusa Tenggara. In the making of Tenun Buna, the women cannot be arbitrary, with the ritual sacred payer so it is not just a plain handwoven fabric, but the fabric has a soul because of the ritual itself. Particular motif shows the user personality, dignified and certainly a good personality.

Songket Lombok Lombok

The motifs are stiffer than Songket Bali and easy to distinguish between them. There is a village in Lombok that the women make songket, it is Sukarara Village southern city of Mataram. Material made right in addition to cotton, bark, banana fiber, pineapple fiber, and palm leaves. Making color substance consisting of two colors namely blue and red. Songket Lombok motifs are various, as as chicken motif, flower motif eight, four flower motifs. Each motif has its own meaning.

Tenun Rangrang Bali

Tenun Rangrang is one of well-known handwoven Balinese fabrics from Karang Village, Nusa Penida island. Generally, the motif of Tenun Rangrang is simple but beautiful diamond likely or zigzag and made from silk or cotton threads. This kind of traditional fabrics also often used in Balinese traditional ceremonies, but now Tenun Rangrang also modified with other fabrics to add value as a new products, not only traditional products but also modern products.

Songket Bali Bali

Made from golden, silver, silk, or cotton threads with really unique beautiful motifs and colors. Songket Bali often used in Balinese rituals or ceremonies. The technique in making it is by which gold or silver threads are woven into the cloth or ikat. This fabrics use lot of threads and it makes the fabrics heavy and stiff, but nowadays Songket Bali also made from cotton threads, so the weight is lighter than the former Songket Bali which made from golden or silver threads. Gelgel and Sidemen in the area in Bali who is well known for this fabric-making village.
