Murray Seeman dies at 103 Ex mayor, lawyer active until 95 BY JA N E LL E CL AUSEN Murray Seeman, a lawyer, real estate developer and former mayor of Great Neck Estates, died on Saturday. He was 103. Seeman died of natural causes in his Great Neck Estates home, his family said. Family members said Seeman was an energetic and “civicminded” man who lived life to the fullest, able to play tennis and work until he was 95. He also had “a gift” of being able to handle complicated business and personal situations, they said. “He was very diplomatic,” his daughter Michelle Rothbort said. “People would come to him from all over for his advice because he was a wise man.” “He knew how to handle complicated business situations, personal situations,” Rothbort added. “That was a gift of his.” Seeman served as a trustee of Great Neck Estates from 1967 to 1975 before serving as the village’s mayor from 1975 to 1983. Success eyes boost in cell service ExteNet Systems presents plan to potentially install nodes throughout the village a proposition to install 13 nodes to improve cellphone coverage in the village on Monday night, Lake Success officials heard but took no formal action and requested more specifics. Representatives from ExteNet Systems, a company that designs, builds and manages distributed networks, said that installing the nodes throughout

the village could “provide better coverage and capacity” for cellphone users. The company also said they would not be instrusive, with shoebox-sized transmitters and two-feet-tall antennas being installed on vertical fixtures. “What we’re proposing is a distributed antenna system, which is long for DAS,” Chris
Fridrich, a senior radio-frequency engineer for the company, said in a later interview. “And what that is is basically bringing the cellphone coverage down into existing structures.” While Lake Success has struggled with cellphone coverage in the past, Mayor Adam Hoffman said the issues got Continued on Page 74
