General Information ORDERING

A layout of the menu system is a necessary component in order placement. A Howard Company (THC) Customer Satisfaction Specialist will begin processing the order when the signed, approved layout and purchase order/payment have been received. STEPS TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR A COMPLETE MENU SYSTEM: 1. Email or fax a copy of the menu with completed Layout Request Form. Layout Request Form can be found on our website www. howardcompany.com The Layout Request Form can be sent by either email or fax: email: design@howardcompany.com - or - fax: 262.782.6515 2. The Howard Company (THC) will send you a free color layout 3. After changes and approvals, submit a P. O. or payment, with a copy of approved layout to THC. Most orders are shipped within ten (10) business days of P. O./payment receipt. 4. Menu systems ship via UPS Ground or common carrier (depending on size), unless otherwise specified on P. O. Freight is F.O.B. Brookfield, WI REPLACEMENT PARTS: Parts are available to order from our on-line webstore @ www. howardcompany.com. Orders placed online have a $25.00 minimum order and will be exempt from handling fee. The minimum for a parts order via a THC Customer Satisfaction Specialist is $50.00, not including shipping and handling. Parts orders are shipped within 7 business days, and ship via UPS Ground. Call the THC Customer Satisfaction Specialist at 800.782.6222 for a quote on expedited shipping. RUSH FEE

The standard lead time for a menu system is 10-15 business days from receipt of the P. O./payment, and approved layout. A rush fee will be assessed for orders requested to ship in less than ten (10) business days. The rush fee is 5% of the net price of the order, or a minimum of $35.00. Rushes are offered only if production schedules allow for it. Please contact your THC Customer Satisfaction Specialist to discuss the lead time required for your order.

PRICE

All prices are list and in US Dollars. Some products are available in 220V for an additional charge. All prices are subject to change without prior notification.

PAYMENT

The Howard Company’s terms are Net 30 Days from date of invoice, with pre-approved credit terms. Payment can also be made via American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Check-By-Phone, or Wire Transfer.

WARRANTY

The Howard Company’s menu systems are covered by a full two-year warranty. The warranty covers replacement parts including graphics, but excludes fluorescent lamps and infield service. Our Optimum Extended Warranty is available for an additional 5% of sell price. Optimum Warranty covers replacement parts for 36 months, and includes in-field service for the first 12 months

RETURN POLICY

RESTOCKING FEE EQUALS 25% OF NET INVOICE RETURN AUTHORIZATION CONSIDERATION 1. Return request received within 90 days of date of invoice 2. Product is new, unused and in original packaging TO RETURN PRODUCT 1. Call your THC Customer Satisfaction Specialist at 800.782.6222, and request a “Return Authorization Number”. The Return Authorization Number is required. • The Return Authorization Number MUST be written on the outside of EACH and EVERY package and referenced on ALL return documents. Any shipment received at THC without the Return Authorization Number will be returned to the sender FREIGHT COLLECT 2. Ship returned product to THC FREIGHT PREPAID RETURNED PRODUCT ACCEPTANCE AND ACCOUNT CREDIT 1. Product will be inspected at THC for Return Authorization Number, new, unused condition and original packaging • If conditions are not met, product will be returned to sender FREIGHT COLLECT 2. Credit will be issued to the account within 30 days of returned product acceptance, LESS THE 25% NET INVOICE RESTOCKING FEE

The new style Platinum series fits our most popular size graphics (18”x 18”, 18” x 27”, 27”x 27”). The panels hold a full size translite graphic, no individual strips or price carriers. ORDERING REPLACEMENT TEXT STRIPS When ordering replacement strips for a Howard/Mainstreet Menu System, follow these steps to ensure your order will be processed correctly by placing your order on our on-line parts webstore:

Find the layout reference number (ex. 09-01-123r1). If you purchased your menu board after October 2000, you will find a yellow layout reference number label on your menu board. The layout reference number will tell us most of the information we need to correctly order your replacement menu strips. Skip steps 3, 4 & 5 if you have the layout reference number and you are not changing the font or color of the strip. Listed below is where to find the label on your menu system:

Indoor Illuminated System: Near lamp replacement label on master box (lightbox with electrical cord).

Non-Illuminated Magnetic Indoor Systems: In the lower left hand corner, under the last strip, on the first board from the far left-hand side. Note: On Performa wet erase and chalkboard panels without strips, label is on backside of menu panel in lower left-hand corner.

Metal Outdoor Systems: Behind the lower left-hand panel. Blow Molded Outdoor Systems: Behind the lower panel on the far left-hand side unit. P.E.P. and Non-Illuminated Walk Up: Behind left hand or bottom menu panel. 2.

Determine type of strip (header, listing and statement). A header strip describes a section of the menu. A listing strip designates each menu item and is followed by one or more 4-digit carriers or set of four number chips. A statement strip describes a menu listing or header.

Determine size of strip. Use the actual size samples on page 14 or measure the width and length of the same type of strip you want to order and include the size on the order form.

Key to Drive-Thru Success 1. Directional Sign The first point of contact with a drive-thru customer is drive-thru lane directional signs. Make sure your first time customers can easily find the drive-thru lane.

2. Presell Board A presell board is the first opportunity to influence and educate your customer on your food offerings. Its value is two fold: increases speed of service and influences the customer to purchase your specialty items. A presell board is usually smaller than the main menu board, but full sized boards are also used.

12. Main Menu Board This is the primary piece of equipment for any drive-thru lane. Its placement and size is extremely important to the success of your entire drive-thru success.

3. Clearance Bar A clearance bar is often necessary as taller vehicles can cause damage to canopies and awnings over the ordering station or pick up station.
