Chuck Givens nailed down the 3-D of the Amateur Pole Bending on his home-bred, The Talkins Over. This class was sponsored by Barry Marcum, Johnne Dodds Insurance, and Len Brown “The CORRECTOR” Pad. Handmade pole bender trophy was donated by the Kendrick Family and awarded to the division winners. The NPBA Fururity was no exception. Sponsored by Park Equine Hospital and Len Brown, The CORRECTOR” Pad. The young horses ran solid and steady throughout the weekend. Only fractions separated out top two young horses in the 1-D. In 2011 Trent Tobin won the Futurity on a home-bred by his stallion, Redneck Jet. Once again Trent brought another talented home-bred, TT Redneck Nitro average of 40.534. World Champion Charlie Peoples and Lightnings Little Lad were Reserve Champions in the 1-D only a blink with a average of 40.582. Janis Wagner and How About a Redneck owned by Sarah Fackler won the 2-D average of the NPBA Futurity. Trent Curtis added another buckle to his showcase by winning 3-D of the Futurity with his horses, TZ Macarenia Chex for a second time. For the third consecutive year the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association recognized the outstanding talents of Kentucky-breds in the NPBA Futurity. The following winners were awarded bonus dollars in their division. Saturday 1stgo 1-D Glen Law and Flitnfiren Lightning, 2-D Jerry Barrett and Ragtime Special and 3-D Nathan Peoples and Firewater Sugar Bull owned by Mark Brown. Sunday 2ndgo 1-D Charlie Peoples and Lightning Little Lad/Light the Bells, 2-D Jason Thomas and Lonaker owned by Mary Lucus.
